Well, help is at hand! After more than 800 mattress reviews, we present Australia’s Top 10 Mattresses for 2018. This list should help you narrow down your search immediately. Let’s count them down from number 10!
The Englander Boston range is possibly the best value mattress in Australia, which is why we couldn’t leave it out of our Top 10. For under $1000, build quality is excellent and the spring system is as good as many other far more expensive mattresses. It comes in firm, medium, or plush so you can choose which version suits you best. An absolute beauty for around $1000. To see our full review of the The Englander Boston, click here.
The Slumberland Devon is a truly beautiful mattress and an excellent all rounder. It feels solid and well built and a nice comfort layer which is medium firm but still should be comfortable enough for most. Excellent spinal support and partner disturbance is minimal. Very well priced as well – you must consider it if you are in Snooze. A serious contender in this price bracket. To see our full review of the Slumberland Devon, click here.
The iComfort Impress by A.H.BEARD forms the top model of perhaps the most advanced and revolutionary mattress range that we have tested to date, and as such, we certainly thought it was worthy of a place in our top 10 for 2018. The Impress model forms one of three versions in the iComfort range, along with the Inspire, and the Imagine. With an easy to use remote control, you can adjust the firmness level which gives you numerous options in terms of firmness. The Sleep Tracker option allows you to link it up to an app on your smart phone which monitors the quality of your sleep and then recommends the best settings for your best sleep. Talk about high tech! For those who like the ultimate in versatility and technological advancement, this mattress is quite phenomenal. To see our full review of the iComfort Impress, click here.
If you are lucky enough to stay in a Crown Hotel, you will experience the class and luxury of sleeping on the magnificent Crown Towers Mattress. Well made and robust, this mattress is very comfortable and absorbs body weight very evenly. Even though it has a plush feel to it, spinal support is still very good, giving it a lovely combination of comfort and support. Partner disturbance is also minimal. A excellent mattress to enjoy if you stay at a Crown Hotel, or decide to purchase it through Crown Gifts. Extremely well priced as well for a mattress of such high quality.
The Beautyrest Silver Naples range is another magnificent mattress collection at Harvey Norman. All versions are well built, with comfortable top layers that also support the spine very nicely. Partner disturbance is minimal on all versions and quite simply this mattress range should offer a model for almost everyone. An outstanding mattress range at a fair price. The Orthokinetic Grandeur Medium is an outstanding range of mattresses at Amart Furniture. The range comes in 3 versions, support (firm), medium, and plush so you can choose to see which model suits your body type. This range represents mattresses that are excellent all rounders. Great value and very well made. The top layers in all versions offer very good spinal support and all are just very pleasurable to lie on. Partner disturbance is minimal. An excellent mattress that offers very good value.
Beds n Dreams
The Neo Luxe Silver range at Beds n Dreams is a very nice and sophisticated mattress range. With a light and comfortable top layer, it has a beautiful and luxurious feel, almost like an expensive hotel bed. The great thing here though is that the spinal support is still very good – even in the plush version. The top layer feels just right under the body – doesn’t mould too much but not too little. For such an advanced mattress, it is surprisingly affordable. Definitely one to try out at Beds n Dreams.
The Silent Partner Performance M10 Hybrid has possibly the nicest mix of comfort and spinal support in any mattress we have tested. The feel of the top layer is just divine. It has a light feel to it with a slight amount of spring. This absorbs body weight beautifully but also maintains spinal support very well. Build quality is first class and partner disturbance is minimal. A simply delightful mattress. The adjustable base (sold separately) should definitely be considered. The Healthy Life Mattress range as expected at number 2 in our list, is truly outstanding. Comes in three versions, plush, classic (medium), and firm allowing you to match the version which is best for you. All models are well made with a very advanced pocket spring system which provides an outstanding level of spinal support coupled with a nice comfort layer. Definitely worth checking out at Regal Sleep Solutions – one of the best mattresses we have tested. To see our full review of the Healthy Life Classic mattress, click here.
The mattress that we feel is the best overall mattress is the Hypnos Cambridge range available at Beds n Dreams. A magnificent mattress range that comes in firm, medium, and plush versions so you can see what model suits you best. The Hypnos Cambridge Medium immediately gives out a strong sense of class and sophistication – build quality is outstanding and it’s no surprise that the Queen sleeps on a Hypnos mattress! All versions have a beautiful top layer that all feel comfortable and supportive. Partner disturbance is very minimal and it is surprisingly good value.
The combination of gel infused latex, gel infused memory foam and wool, should also keep you cool in those hot summer months. Congratulations to Hypnos and Beds n Dreams. We strongly encourage all Australians to try this range out. To see our full review of the Hypnos Cambridge Medium version, click here.
