Purchase and delivery
How do I buy the Ecosa Pure Mattress?
The Ecosa Pure Mattress can be ordered directly through the Ecosa website and delivered to most locations across Australia.
Like many modern mattresses, the Pure arrives compressed and boxed to simplify transport and delivery. Given its substantial weight, particularly in the larger sizes, we recommend having two people available to assist with moving and unpacking the mattress.
Ecosa offers free delivery to many metropolitan areas across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. In eligible metro locations, next-day delivery is available for many orders placed before 11:59pm on weekdays, subject to stock availability and delivery capacity.
Our mattress arrived in excellent condition and was securely packaged for transit. The box incorporates sturdy carry handles along with integrated transport wheels, making it noticeably easier to manoeuvre than many other boxed mattresses.
The mattress is wrapped in recyclable plastic and secured using compostable tape. Ecosa also includes a welcome pack containing product information and a plastic safety cutter to assist with unpacking.
Removing the mattress from the box was relatively straightforward and took approximately 5–10 minutes. We found it easiest to slide the mattress out from the side opposite the carry handles, as the plastic wrapping can occasionally catch on the handles during removal.
As part of our standard testing process, we allowed the mattress 24 hours to fully expand before commencing our assessment.
Ecosa also offers an optional Premium Delivery service in selected metropolitan areas. This includes delivery, setup, assembly, and rubbish removal for added convenience.
For customers located outside major metropolitan regions, delivery times and charges may vary depending on location. Some regional areas may also attract an additional delivery fee.
Aesthetics and presentation
What does it look like in real life?
The Ecosa Pure Mattress has a clean, modern appearance that aligns well with Ecosa’s broader design philosophy. The white sleep surface contrasts nicely against the light grey side panels, while the subtle Ecosa branding and neatly piped edges give the mattress a refined and contemporary look.

At 29cm high, the Ecosa Pure has a well-proportioned profile that sits comfortably between lower-profile foam mattresses and thicker pillow top designs. The overall finishings are of a high standard, with quality stitching, practical side handles, and a removable cover that integrates neatly into the mattress design.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the Ecosa Pure Mattress?
The Ecosa Pure Mattress is an innerspring mattress that combines multiple comfort layers with an advanced dual-spring support system. Each version uses slightly different comfort materials while sharing the same underlying support system.
Medium-Firm Edition
1. Washable Eco Cover
The removable cover combines Tencel™ fibres with OceanCycle™ recycled polyester to create a soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking sleep surface. The cover can be unzipped and machine washed when required, making it easy to keep the mattress fresh and clean.

2. Dual Layer BounceTech™ & Gel Memory Foam
The primary comfort layer combines Ecosa’s BounceTech™ foam with cooling gel-infused memory foam. Together, these materials are designed to provide responsive comfort, pressure relief, and a balanced feel while helping to regulate temperature.
3. High-Resilience Micro Coils
Positioned beneath the comfort foams is a layer of approximately 2,444 fine-gauge micro coils (king size). These micro coils promote airflow, provide responsive contouring support, and help minimise body impressions over time.
4. Pinholed Dunlop Latex
A layer of natural Dunlop latex provides additional support, durability, and responsiveness. The latex is pinholed to encourage airflow throughout the mattress while contributing to a firmer, more buoyant sleep surface.
5. Zoned Precision Pocket Springs
At the core of the mattress sits a seven-zone pocket spring system containing approximately 2,250 individually wrapped springs (king size). These precision-engineered springs provide targeted spinal support, minimise partner disturbance, and include reinforced edge support around the perimeter of the mattress.
6. Ecosa Engineered Non-Slip Base Cover
The base of the mattress features Ecosa’s engineered non-slip cover with integrated grip channels, helping to keep the mattress securely positioned on the bed base while enhancing overall durability.
Medium-Plush Edition
The Medium-Plush Edition shares the same overall construction as the Medium-Firm Edition, however its upper comfort layers have been modified to deliver a softer and more pressure-relieving sleep surface.
2. Dual Layer Plush Foam & Copper-Infused Memory Foam
The primary comfort layer combines plush comfort foam with copper-infused memory foam to create a softer, more cushioned sleeping experience. These materials are designed to provide enhanced pressure relief while helping to regulate temperature and maintain supportive comfort.
3. High-Resilience Micro Coils
Positioned beneath the comfort foams is a layer of approximately 2,444 fine-gauge micro coils (king size). These micro coils promote airflow, provide responsive contouring support, and help minimise body impressions over time.
4. Pinholed Dunlop Latex
A layer of natural Dunlop latex adds responsive support, durability, and breathability. The pinholed design encourages airflow throughout the mattress while contributing a subtle level of bounce to the overall feel.
5. Zoned Precision Pocket Springs

The mattress is finished with Ecosa’s engineered non-slip base cover, featuring integrated grip channels to help keep the mattress securely positioned on the bed base.
Firmness adjustments
How does the customisation work?
As noted above, the Ecosa Pure Mattress is available in two editions – the Medium-Firm Edition and the Medium-Plush Edition. Each edition also offers two different firmness options, allowing users to tailor the mattress to their individual comfort preferences.
The Medium-Firm Edition can be adjusted between a Medium and Medium-Firm feel, while the Medium-Plush Edition can be configured as either Medium-Plush or Medium.
Adjusting the firmness is relatively straightforward. Simply unzip the removable cover, flip the upper comfort layer over, and then zip the cover back into place. While the comfort layer is quite substantial and can be a little cumbersome to handle, we found the process easy enough with two people.
The mattress is delivered pre-configured in a default setting, with the Medium-Firm Edition arriving in the Medium configuration and the Medium-Plush Edition arriving in the Medium-Plush configuration.
Convenient labels attached to the comfort layer clearly indicate each firmness option, making the adjustment process simple and intuitive.

Comfort and support
What’s it like to sleep on the Ecosa Pure Mattress?
Medium-Firm Edition – Medium Version
The default setting of the Medium-Firm Edition is the Medium configuration. It delivers a comfortable, smooth feel with a good balance of cushioning and support, while remaining pleasantly responsive during normal sleep movements.
This configuration should suit a wide range of sleeping positions and body types, although as always, comfort preferences will vary between individuals.
By majority vote, we rated it as 6.5 / 10 on the firmness scale, with 10 being the firmest.
Medium-Firm Edition – Medium Version (Default)

Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the Ecosa Pure Mattress on the Naptime Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
Medium-Firm Edition – Medium-Firm Version
Compared to the default Medium configuration, the Medium-Firm setting feels slightly more responsive and buoyant during normal sleep movements. In terms of overall firmness, however, we found very little difference between the two configurations.
Like the Medium setting, this configuration should suit a wide range of sleeping positions and body types, although comfort preferences will naturally vary between individuals.
By majority vote, we also rated this configuration as 6.5 / 10 on the firmness scale, with 10 being the firmest.
Medium-Firm Edition – Medium-Firm Version
Medium-Plush Edition – Medium-Plush Version
Our default setting of the Medium-Plush Edition was the Medium-Plush configuration. It delivers a comfortable, spongy feel with excellent pressure relief, allowing the body to sink gently into the mattress while still maintaining good underlying support.
This configuration should suit many side sleepers, along with those who generally prefer a softer and more cushioned sleeping surface. As always, comfort preferences will vary between individuals.
By majority vote, we rated it as 5 / 10 on the firmness scale, with 10 being the firmest.
Medium-Plush Edition – Medium-Plush Version (default)

Again, our firmness ratings are just a guide.
Medium-Plush Edition – Medium-Version
Compared to the default Medium-Plush configuration, the Medium setting feels only marginally firmer. During our testing, the difference between the two configurations was quite subtle and may not be noticeable to many sleepers.
Like the Medium-Plush setting, this configuration provides a comfortable and pressure-relieving sleep surface, while offering just a touch more support. As always, individual comfort preferences will vary.
By majority vote, we rated it as 5.5 / 10 on the firmness scale, with 10 being the firmest.
Medium-Plush Edition – Medium-Version

Regardless of the configuration selected, we found the Ecosa Pure Mattress to provide good overall back support.
The dual-spring support system creates a stable and supportive sleeping surface, although optimal spinal support will naturally depend on selecting the firmness option that best suits your body type and sleeping preferences.
Responsiveness is also excellent across all four configurations. The combination of latex and spring layers allows sleepers to change positions with very little effort, making the mattress feel easy to move around on throughout the night.
Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
Overall, the Ecosa Pure Mattress is very well made. The materials, stitching, and finishings are all executed to a high standard, giving the mattress a genuinely premium feel despite its mattress-in-a-box status.
The mattress features four horizontally positioned side handles that are strong, securely stitched, and easy to grip. These make lifting, rotating, and transporting the mattress considerably easier.

Motion isolation is also impressive. The pocket spring support system does a good job of minimising partner disturbance, making the mattress well suited to couples. Naturally, the amount of movement transferred will depend on factors such as the size and weight of each sleeper, as well as the mattress size.
Edge support is very good, allowing sleepers to comfortably utilise almost the entire sleeping surface without feeling as though they may roll off the edge.
Ecosa has incorporated a protective fabric flap behind the zip to help prevent it from catching on the surrounding material.
One thoughtful design feature is the removable cover. Although the zipper pull is relatively small, it operates smoothly, and Ecosa has incorporated a protective fabric flap behind the zip to help prevent it from catching on the surrounding material. It’s a small detail, but one that reflects the overall attention to quality.
Finally, the Ecosa Pure Mattress includes several recognised certification standards. The foams are certified by CertiPUR-US, the cover incorporates OceanCycle certified recycled polyester, and the zipper is certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
