Purchase and delivery
How do I buy a Dusk&Dawn Vitality Mattress?
The Dusk&Dawn Vitality can be conveniently ordered online through the Dusk&Dawn website.
Delivery is free to metro areas, and Dusk&Dawn can deliver to most areas of Australia (excluding Tasmania, the Northern Territory, and some remote regions).
A premium ‘white glove’ delivery service is included at no extra cost in metro areas. This involves a two-person team who will carry your mattress into your room of choice and unpack it for you. For an extra $100, they’ll even remove your old mattress (metro only).
Our mattress arrived in good condition and was protected by two layers of plastic. The Vitality does come compressed in a box, so we recommend allowing 24 hours for the mattress to fully decompress before use.
Aesthetics and Presentation
What does it look like in real life?
The Dusk&Dawn Vitality presents with a sleek and sophisticated design, using a clean white and charcoal colour palette. Branding is minimal but well-executed, and the surface fabric feels high in quality with a modern texture.
The model name is clearly displayed near the base, and the product sits approximately 31cm high.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the Dusk&Dawn Vitality Mattress?
This is an innerspring mattress that combines premium foams with a zoned pocket spring system.
1. Premium Knit Fabric Cover
The outer surface uses an Australian made knit fabric that feels soft and breathable.
2. Comfort Layers – Hypersoft, Gel, and Quiltec Blend
This blend of materials offers a balance of pressure relief, cooling, and plushness. It includes 30mm of Quiltec, 10mm of gel-infused foam, and 13mm of Hypersoft foam.
3. Premium HD Comfort Foam (70mm)
This layer of high-density comfort foam is Global Green Tag certified and provides additional support and body contouring.
4. 5-Zone Pocket Spring System
The support core features a 5-zone pocket spring unit with edge-to-edge technology. It’s designed to provide tailored support to the shoulders, hips, and lower back while minimising partner disturbance.
5. Breathable Border
The border allows air to flow through the mattress, helping it stay cool and fresh over time.
Customisation
How does the firmness adjustment work?
The Dusk&Dawn Vitality features a replaceable comfort layer that allows you to adjust between a firm, medium, or soft feel — all in one mattress.
On your initial order, you can select firm, medium, or soft. If you are not satisfied with your initial selection, you can request (at no charge) an additional foam layer to adjust your mattress firmness.
Simply unzip the mattress cover, replace the comfort layer, and zip it back up. It’s a straightforward process that gives you flexibility knowing that you aren’t stuck with a mattress that you don’t like.
This adjustability makes the Vitality a great choice for couples with different preferences or for individuals who aren’t quite sure which firmness they’ll prefer long-term.
Comfort and support
What’s it like to sleep on the Dusk&Dawn Vitality Mattress?
The top cover of the Dusk&Dawn Vitality Mattress feels delightful – soft, smooth, and breathable. This cover may help with cooling during sleep.
The comfort layer in the medium version offers a plenty of pressure relief and is relatively soft for a medium. Our sample felt slightly uneven in certain spots.
The medium configuration should suit most sleeping positions (side, back, and stomach). Our reviewers settled on a 4.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).
Medium Version
Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the Dusk&Dawn Vitality on the Chiropedic Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
The firm version has more supportive feel but still offers enough cushioning for comfort. This version should also suit most sleeping positions. Our reviewers settled on a 7 / 10 on the firmness scale.
Firm Version
The soft version is noticeably soft with an abundance of comfort and pressure relief. This version would be best suited for some side sleepers. Our reviewers settled on a 3 / 10 on the firmness scale.
All firmness options offer excellent back support and the spring system feels stable and durable. This is of course, if the firmness level selected suits the individual’s comfort needs.
The Vitality also responds well to normal sleep movements, and we rated its responsiveness in the optimal zone. In practical terms, changing sleep positions (or engaging in intimate activities) shouldn’t require much effort.
Responsiveness
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
The overall build quality of the Dusk&Dawn Vitality is excellent. From the surface fabric to the internal layers, everything feels solid and well made.
The outer fabric on the comfort layer is particularly nice — soft, textured, and a sign of thoughtful design. This detail helps hold the internal layer in place and speaks to the mattress’s attention to finishings.
Partner disturbance is low for an innerspring design, and most couples shouldn’t experience major sleep disruptions.
The soft version is noticeably soft with an abundance of comfort and pressure relief.
Edge support is reasonable, but not quite as firm as the Dusk&Dawn Harmony. As expected, we found the firm option to have the best edge support and should allow you to sleep or sit near the edge without significant sagging.
Vertical side handles are included on both sides and are firmly attached. There isn’t much space for larger hands, but they still make rotating the mattress easier.
The Vitality contains CertiPUR-US certified foams, meaning they’ve been tested for harmful chemicals including VOCs, heavy metals, and formaldehyde.

Bed base compatibility
What type of bed base should I use?
We recommend using the Dusk&Dawn Vitality Mattress on a supportive bed base with solid or flat panel slats.
A bed base with flat panel slats, such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base, provides even surface support and minimises mattress sagging.
A bed base with rigid slats, such as the Chiropedic Bed Base, is also very suitable. These slats are spaced evenly and firmly, helping to preserve mattress durability and performance.
We advise against using flexible (posture) slats, as they may not provide consistent support and can compromise the mattress structure over time. Additionally, the Dusk&Dawn Vitality is not recommended for use with an adjustable (electric) bed base, as it may cause damage to the internal components.
For those specifically seeking a mattress for an adjustable base, the Dusk&Dawn Premiere is a compatible option. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
Keep in mind that mattress comfort, firmness, and lifespan can vary depending on the bed base used.
Trial period and warranty
What happens if I don’t like it?
The Dusk&Dawn Vitality comes with a 100 night trial period. During this time, if you’re not satisfied, you can request an additional foam layer to adjust your mattress firmness.
If you are still not satisfied with your new mattress firmness, you can return the mattress for a refund. This must still be done within the 100 night period.
This mattress also comes with a 10 year warranty that covers faulty materials or workmanship. Be sure to retain your proof of purchase and follow care instructions to maintain warranty coverage.
