The Dusk&Dawn Harmony Mattress is a high-quality mattress in a box that offers a customisable comfort layer. This design allows users to adjust the firmness of the mattress by simply flipping over the top section.

Purchase and delivery
How do I buy a Dusk&Dawn Harmony Mattress?
The Dusk&Dawn Harmony can be conveniently ordered online through the Dusk&Dawn website.
Delivery is free to metro areas, and Dusk&Dawn delivers to most regions across Australia (excluding some remote areas, Tasmania, and the Northern Territory).
Dusk&Dawn offers a premium ‘white glove’ delivery service. This involves a two-person team who will carefully carry your mattress into your room of choice and remove all packaging.
For metro customers, old mattress removal is also available for a $100 fee.
The Harmony Mattress arrives compressed in a box, and you should allow it 24 hours to fully decompress before sleeping on it. The box is sturdy but does not have wheels, so we recommend having two people available to move and unpack the mattress.
Inside the box, you’ll find a product information booklet and the mattress itself, well protected in thick plastic wrapping.
Aesthetics and Presentation
What does it look like in real life?
The Dusk&Dawn Harmony Mattress has a clean, modern look with a quilted white top and dark patterned side panels. The branding is neat and understated, with a stitched label and a signature green-and-purple band that identifies the model.
The top fabric features a plush, high-end quilt pattern that adds a refined touch. At 34cm high, it has a solid presence and should pair well with most bedroom styles. Overall, it presents as a well-made, premium-quality mattress.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the Dusk&Dawn Harmony Mattress?
The Dusk&Dawn Harmony is an innerspring mattress that blends premium foams with a zoned pocket spring system, designed to offer comfort, support, and durability.
1. Premium Knit Fabric Cover
The surface features an Australian made knit fabric that feels soft, breathable, and high in quality.
2. Comfort Layers – HygroFlex and Quiltec™ Blend
This comfort section combines 30mm of Quiltec™ with 30mm of HygroFlex foam. This pairing is designed to provide plushness, pressure relief, and improved airflow.
3. Premium Zone Foam (70mm)
A thick layer of high-density foam offers extra support and contouring. It’s Global Green Tag certified and includes dual firmness zones to work with the flippable design of the mattress.
4. 5-Zone Pocket Spring System
The core of the mattress includes a 5-zone pocket spring unit that supports the body’s key pressure areas while minimising partner disturbance. It also runs edge-to-edge for full surface stability.
5. Boost™ Foam Boxed Wall
The outer perimeter is reinforced with high-density Boost™ foam to enhance edge support and structural integrity.
6. Breathable Border
A ventilated border runs around the mattress perimeter to improve airflow and help with temperature regulation.
Customisation
How does the firmness adjustment work?
The Dusk&Dawn Harmony features a flippable comfort layer that allows you to switch between a medium-firm or medium-soft feel — all in the same mattress.
Simply unzip the mattress cover, flip the internal comfort layer, and zip it back up. It’s an easy and intuitive process that offers flexibility without needing any extra parts or tools.
This level of customisation makes the Harmony ideal for couples with different comfort preferences, or for anyone unsure of their ideal firmness from the outset.
Comfort and support
What’s it like to sleep on the Dusk&Dawn Harmony Mattress?
We tested the Dusk&Dawn Harmony in both of its available firmness settings — medium-firm and medium-soft.
The default setting (medium-firm) feels lovely under the body, offering gentle cushioning and pressure relief. We would describe it as a 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).
Medium-firm
Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the Dusk&Dawn Harmony Mattress on the Chiropedic Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
Interestingly, the medium-soft side feels quite similar. If anything, we found it just a touch firmer — around a 5.5 out of 10 — though the difference is minimal. In either configuration, the Harmony provides a plush, comfortable surface that allows the body to relax and melt into the mattress.
Medium-soft
Adding to the comfort is the mattress cover itself — soft, breathable, and high quality. It enhances the overall feel and reflects the attention to detail that Dusk&Dawn is known for.
Overall, it offers a balanced feel that should suit most sleeping positions and body types.
Both firmness options offer excellent back support and the spring system feels stable and durable. This is of course, if the firmness level selected suits the individual’s comfort needs.
The Harmony also responds well to normal sleep movements, and we rated its responsiveness in the optimal zone. In practical terms, changing sleep positions (or engaging in intimate activities) shouldn’t require much effort.
Responsiveness
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
The Dusk&Dawn Harmony shows strong build quality across the board. Materials and stitching feel premium, and the mattress appears durable and well put together.
Motion transfer is low — the comfort foams and pocket spring unit combine to minimise partner disturbance effectively. Edge support is also impressive, thanks to the Boost™ foam box wall that reinforces the perimeter of the mattress.
Edge support is also impressive, thanks to the Boost™ foam box wall.
There’s a flippable comfort layer inside, and while the unzipping and flipping process is straightforward, we did find the zip pull to be on the small side. A larger, more robust tab would make the process a bit easier, especially for those with reduced grip strength.
As with other Dusk&Dawn mattresses, the Harmony includes vertical side handles that are firmly stitched in, although they may be a little tight for larger hands.
It’s also worth noting that the foams used in the Harmony are certified as non-toxic by CertiPUR-US®. This certification ensures they’ve been tested for harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde, mercury, lead, and other VOCs.
The mattress also has a breathable border to encourage airflow and prevent heat build-up. Overall, these finer details reinforce the high-quality feel of the Harmony mattress.

Bed base compatibility
What type of bed base should I use?
We recommend using the Dusk&Dawn Harmony Mattress on a supportive bed base with solid or flat panel slats.
A bed base with flat panel slats, such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base, provides even surface support and minimises mattress sagging.
A bed base with rigid slats, such as the Chiropedic Bed Base, is also very suitable. These slats are spaced evenly and firmly, helping to preserve mattress durability and performance.
We advise against using flexible (posture) slats, as they may not provide consistent support and can compromise the mattress structure over time. Additionally, the Dusk&Dawn Vitality is not recommended for use with an adjustable (electric) bed base, as it may cause damage to the internal components.
For those specifically seeking a mattress for an adjustable base, the Dusk&Dawn Premiere is a compatible option. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
Keep in mind that mattress comfort, firmness, and lifespan can vary depending on the bed base used.
Trial period and warranty
What happens if I don’t like it?

This mattress also comes with a 10 year warranty that covers faulty materials or workmanship. Be sure to retain your proof of purchase and follow care instructions to maintain warranty coverage.

Feel: Harmony offers a more adaptable feel through its dual-sided comfort layer.
Edge support: Both offer excellent edge support, though Harmony’s boxed wall edge may feel a touch more stable.
