Purchase and delivery
How do I buy the Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress?
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress can be purchased online through the Mattress Crafters website, with free delivery available to metropolitan areas across Australia.
Delivery fees may apply to regional and remote locations, with the final cost calculated at checkout. Customers can enter their postcode to check delivery availability and any applicable charges.
Our review sample arrived compressed and rolled in a fairly basic cardboard box. The packaging wasn’t particularly sophisticated, and the box didn’t have wheels, but it served its purpose and the mattress arrived in good condition.
Inside the box was a small information sheet and a cutting tool to assist with unpacking. The mattress was wrapped in protective plastic, so it’s worth planning ahead for the disposal of the cardboard and plastic packaging.
Once unpacked, we allowed the mattress a full 24 hours to decompress before commencing our testing.
Aesthetics and presentation
What does it look like in real life?
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress has a modern, attractive appearance, with a predominantly white colour scheme complemented by a dark grey fabric border around the upper section.
The white quilted top cover features subtle decorative patterns, while the side panels have a distinctive wave-like stitching design. The prominent Mattress Crafters branding and Boutique Deluxe Plus label add to its neat, contemporary presentation.

Overall, the mattress presents quite nicely, particularly considering its affordable price point.
However, the dark grey fabric border creates the impression of a thick, substantial comfort layer, which is somewhat misleading. When feeling through this section from the side, the springs are clearly noticeable, suggesting that the actual comfort layers are not as thick as the external design might indicate.
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress has an overall height of 32.8 cm, giving it a relatively tall profile.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress?
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress combines several foam comfort layers, a latex layer and a seven-zone pocket spring system. Its construction includes the following components:
1. Crafter Stretch Knit Cover
A quilted stretch knit fabric designed to provide a soft, comfortable sleeping surface while allowing airflow through the upper layers.

2. Visco Memory Foam
A slow-response memory foam quilted into the top section, designed to contour to the body and provide pressure relief around areas such as the shoulders and hips.
3. CrafterCore Plus Convoluted Foam
An egg-crate-shaped foam layer that provides additional cushioning, with channels designed to encourage airflow through the comfort layers.
4. CrafterLastic Latex
A latex comfort layer designed to provide a buoyant, responsive feel. Unlike slower-response memory foam, latex springs back more quickly as the sleeper changes positions.
5. CrafterCool-Ice Gel Memory Foam
A gel-infused memory foam layer designed to contour to the body, provide pressure relief and help regulate sleep temperature.
6. Support Foam
A transitional foam layer that sits between the comfort layers and the pocket spring system, helping to distribute weight and provide a more even sleeping surface.
7. 7-Zone CrafterCoil Pocket Springs
An individually wrapped pocket spring system with seven support zones. This includes two rows of heavier springs around the perimeter, designed to improve edge support and minimise partner disturbance.
Comfort and support
What’s it like to sleep on the Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress?
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress offers a comfortable sleeping surface, with its upper comfort layers providing a generous amount of cushioning and pressure relief.
There is a noticeable amount of give through the comfort layers, creating a slight sinking sensation when lying on the mattress. This may appeal to sleepers who prefer a softer, more cushioned feel.
However, heavier individuals are likely to compress these layers more significantly, which may affect the level of support provided.
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress may be suitable for a range of sleeping positions, including side, back and stomach sleeping. Understandably, this suitability will vary between individuals.
During our testing, we rated the firmness at 5 / 10 (with 10 being the firmest), placing it in the medium category.
Firmness rating

Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress on the Sleep Republic Deluxe Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
In terms of support, the 7-zone pocket spring system feels relatively basic and lacks the solid, robust feel that we typically associate with more premium mattresses. There is a slight sense of instability through the spring system, which raises some questions about its overall support capabilities, particularly for heavier sleepers.
Nevertheless, the spring system is serviceable and should provide adequate support for many sleepers.
Despite the spring system not providing a strong sense of stability and sturdiness, in terms of responsiveness, the mattress responds fairly well to normal sleep movements.
Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress is reasonably well made for its price category. The stitching and finishing are tidy, the fabrics feel quite respectable, and the mattress has an attractive overall presentation.
The springs are quite noticeable when pressing through the side panels. This highlights the relatively basic nature of its construction, although it’s understandable given the affordable price point. The absence of side handles is also a minor drawback, particularly when moving or rotating the mattress.
Edge support is adequate without being particularly impressive. There is a noticeable amount of compression when sitting along the perimeter, but the mattress still offers some resistance. For most sleepers, this should allow them to use the majority of the mattress surface comfortably.

Some partner disturbance can be detected when movement occurs on the other side of the mattress, although we didn’t find this overly disruptive. As always, the extent of partner disturbance will depend on factors such as the size and weight of each sleeper, along with the dimensions of the mattress.
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress is reasonably well made for its price category.
We didn’t experience any unusual heat build-up during testing. Nevertheless, sleeping temperature is influenced by a range of factors, including room conditions, bedding materials and individual temperature preferences.
Other details
Product weight of each mattress size:
- King Mattress: 39.7 kg
- Queen Mattress: 33.4 kg
- Double Mattress: 28.8 kg
- King Single Mattress: 29.1 kg
- Long Single Mattress: 29.0 kg (estimated)
- Single Mattress: 27.4 kg
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress to be used on a bed base with rigid slats such as the Ecosa Haven Bed Frame.
We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation may void the mattress warranty.
We don’t recommend the Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Trial period and warranty
What happens if I don’t like it?
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress comes with a 120-night trial period, giving customers the opportunity to assess its comfort and suitability in their own home.
Customers are required to keep the mattress for a minimum of 30 nights before requesting a return. If they’re not satisfied, Mattress Crafters can arrange collection and provide a refund of the mattress purchase price.
It’s important to note, however, that a $250 collection fee applies to returns in metropolitan areas. Customers in regional or remote locations will need to obtain a separate quote for mattress collection.
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress is also backed by a 15-year limited warranty, offering protection against eligible manufacturing defects.

Final verdict
Is this the right mattress for you?
The Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress is a comfortable and serviceable mattress that offers good value for money, particularly for shoppers seeking an affordable option with plenty of pressure relief.
Its generous comfort layers provide a soft, cushioned sleeping surface, although the relatively basic spring system lacks the stability and robust feel of more premium mattresses. In this respect, the mattress does reflect its affordable price point.
Nevertheless, for lighter or average-weight sleepers who enjoy a medium feel with a noticeable amount of cushioning, the Boutique Deluxe Plus Mattress is certainly worth considering.
Overall, while it may not be the best choice for heavier individuals or those requiring a particularly sturdy support system, it remains a good budget-friendly option for the right sleeper.
