Purchase and delivery
How do I buy the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress?
The Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress can be ordered directly from the Emma Sleep website and arrives compressed in a box for convenient delivery and easier handling.
As with most boxed mattresses, we recommend having two people available to assist with moving and unpacking, particularly for the larger sizes. After opening, the mattress expands rapidly, although we suggest allowing up to 24 hours before sleeping on it or carrying out any testing.
Our mattress arrived securely packaged and in excellent condition, with the packaging providing ample protection during transport.
Emma provides free delivery to many metropolitan areas across Australia. Customers in selected outer metropolitan and regional locations may incur a non-refundable delivery fee of either $79 or $160, depending on their postcode, and delivery times may be slightly longer.
For consistency with our testing process, we allowed the mattress to fully expand for 24 hours before beginning our evaluation.
Aesthetics and presentation
What does it look like in real life?
The Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress has a clean, contemporary appearance that gives it a premium look and feel. The bright white sleep surface contrasts nicely with the darker side panels and piping, resulting in a design that should blend well with a wide variety of bedroom styles.
A subtle Emma logo pattern is stitched into the cover, adding some visual interest without being overly prominent. The branding is tasteful and complements the mattress’s overall minimalist design.
Standing 26cm high, the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft has a relatively streamlined profile compared with many premium innerspring mattresses. The stitching, panel alignment, and overall finish are all neatly executed, giving the mattress a well-made appearance that reflects its premium positioning.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress?
The Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress is an innerspring mattress that combines multiple comfort foam layers with a seven-zone pocket spring support system.
Its layered construction is designed to deliver a softer, more pressure-relieving sleep experience while maintaining good support, cooling performance, and long-term durability.
1. PolarLuxe™ Cooling Cover
The PolarLuxe™ Cooling Cover is designed to feel cool, soft, and comfortable from the moment you lie down. Its breathable knit fabric incorporates micro-dot ventilation to encourage airflow around the sleeping surface, helping create a fresher sleeping environment.
2. ThermoSync™ Graphite-Infused Foam
Positioned beneath the cover is Emma’s ThermoSync™ graphite-infused foam. This layer is engineered to help draw excess heat away from the body, assisting with temperature regulation throughout the night.
3. MemoryAdapt™ Comfort Foam
The MemoryAdapt™ comfort foam is the primary comfort layer of the mattress. It contours closely to the body’s natural curves, providing excellent pressure relief and deeper cushioning while helping distribute body weight more evenly.
4. SupportBase Foam
Below the comfort layers is a supportive transition foam that provides balanced support while easing pressure on sensitive areas. It also creates a smooth transition into the pocket spring system and helps prevent excessive sinkage.
5. 7-Zone Pocket Spring System
At the core of the mattress is a seven-zone pocket spring system featuring individually wrapped springs that respond independently to movement. The springs provide targeted support, minimise partner disturbance, and are surrounded by a reinforced foam perimeter to improve edge support and maximise the usable sleeping surface.
6. SupportBase Foundation Foam
A second SupportBase foam layer sits beneath the spring system to provide a stable foundation for the mattress. This layer contributes to the mattress’s structural integrity and long-term durability.
7. Non-Slip Base Cover
The underside of the mattress features a non-slip fabric that helps keep it securely positioned on the bed base while improving overall stability during everyday use.
Comfort and support
What’s it like to sleep on the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress?
The Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress has a comfortable, smooth feel that gently cushions the body while providing excellent pressure relief. Its comfort layers create a spongy sleeping surface that feels inviting without sacrificing overall support.
The mattress still provides a balanced sleeping experience that should suit many side sleepers and those who enjoy a more cushioned sleep surface. As always, comfort preferences will vary between individuals.
By majority vote, we rated the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress as 5 / 10 on the firmness scale, with 10 being the firmest.
Firmness rating

Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress on the Naptime Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
Overall, we found the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress to provide good back support. The seven-zone pocket spring system creates a stable and supportive sleeping surface, while the generous comfort layers help cushion the body and relieve pressure without feeling unsupportive.
The mattress also responds well to movement. We rated the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress within the optimal responsiveness zone, meaning most sleepers should find it easy to change sleeping positions throughout the night without feeling stuck in the comfort layers.
Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
The Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress is well made, with quality materials, neat stitching, and a high standard of finish throughout. It has a premium look and feel, with nothing that gave the impression of being cheaply manufactured.
Four vertically positioned side handles are fitted to the mattress. They are securely stitched, generously sized, and make lifting or rotating the mattress much easier than would otherwise be the case.
Motion isolation is good. The pocket spring system effectively reduces movement transfer, helping minimise disturbances from a partner during the night. As always, the amount of motion transfer will vary depending on factors such as the weight of each sleeper and the size of the mattress.
Cooling performance was also good during our testing. The PolarLuxe™ Cooling Cover feels pleasantly cool to the touch, and we didn’t notice any abnormal heat retention. As with all mattresses, however, sleeping temperature will vary between individuals and is influenced by a range of factors beyond the mattress itself.
Edge support is good overall. The reinforced foam perimeter allows most sleepers to comfortably utilise the majority of the mattress surface, although there is some compression when sitting directly on the edge.
Finally, it’s worth noting that, at the time of writing, we were unable to find any recognised health or non-toxic certifications listed for the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress on the Emma Sleep Australia website.
Other details
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress to be used on a bed base with solid slats such as the Ecosa Haven Bed Frame.
We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation may void the mattress warranty.
We don’t recommend the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Trial period and warranty
What happens if I don’t like it?
The Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress comes with a generous 150-night trial period, allowing customers to properly experience the mattress in the comfort of their own home.
Emma advises that it may take several weeks for your body to adjust to a new mattress, so the extended trial provides ample opportunity to determine whether it’s the right fit. If you’re not satisfied, Emma will arrange the return in accordance with its trial policy.
The Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress is backed by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty, covering manufacturing defects and faulty workmanship. As with all mattress warranties, the coverage is subject to Emma’s warranty terms and conditions, so it’s worth reviewing these before making your purchase.
