As with other mattresses in a box, you can order the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress online (through the Zeek website).

Delivery of the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress is free and it can be delivered to anywhere in Australia. Delivery times are typically 5-9 business days for metropolitan areas, and up to 14 business days for rural and remote locations.

In terms of pure aesthetics, the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress presents well with a modern yet funky appearance. It sits 35cm high which is slightly higher than an average height (of around 30cm).

The mattress uses a white, grey, orange, and blue colour theme with product name embroidery on the base.

As we touched on above, the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress is a true hybrid mattress. It contains a number of foam components and a spring system.

The top cover of this mattress is made with a Copper Tencel Fabric that may help with temperature regulation and breathability.

This cover feels smooth and silky and has a distinct cooling sensation.

2. Copper Air Memory Foam

Comfort and support

The Copper Tencel Fabric cover does feel cool to touch, reinforcing its capacity to minimise heat during sleep.

In terms of feel, the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress has a comfortable, spongy feel that moulds to your body nicely. It offers plenty of pressure relief and absorbs body weight evenly.

This mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers), but understandably its suitability may vary between individuals. We found it particularly comfortable in the side lying position.

When it comes to a specific firmness rating, our reviewers agreed that this mattress has a medium feel. We settled on a 5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).

This pocket springs in this mattress feel sturdy and supportive. It offers reliable back support and should accommodate people of all sizes.

Perhaps due to the generous layers of comfort foams, the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress doesn’t respond as well to normal sleep movements as some other mattresses. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) may require some effort.

Responsiveness

The finer details

The build quality of the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress is admirable. The quality of the foams and fabrics is of a high standard, as is the quality of the stitching and finishings.

The zip mechanism is large and the zipper was smooth and easy to use.

A lovely mattress that comes with plenty of comfort and design sophistication.

As we touched on in the Mattress Construction section above, the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress seems to isolate motion quite well. So, a restless partner shouldn’t cause too much disruption.

With that said, motion transfer may vary. A larger mattress (e.g. king size) will usually involve lower amounts of motion transfer. Partner disturbance will also depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.

As with all other Zeek mattresses, the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress doesn’t come with side handles. Side handles will always make moving or transporting a mattress easier.

Thanks to the special foam box edge, edge support is commendable. So, the user should be able to use the full surface of the mattress, without fear of rolling off the edge.

All Zeek mattresses are CertiPUR-US and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 approved. These highly reputable certifications indicate that this mattress has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for babies, toddlers, and adults.

What bed base should I use?

As with most mattresses, we recommend the Zeek Hybrid Element Mattress to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.

A bed base with solid slats (with slats no longer than 8 cm apart) such as the Chiropedic Bed Base, would also be very suitable.

Koala Paddington Bed Base

We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will void the mattress warranty.
