The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II forms part of the Valmori mattress collection. This collection also includes the Valmori Spring Mattress and the Valmori Latex Mattress.
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II is a true hybrid mattress. It combines foam components with a spring system, in one cohesive unit (without a distinguishable pillow top).
Purchase and delivery
As with other beds in a box, the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II can be conveniently ordered online (through the Valmori website). Delivery is free and your mattress will arrive at your door in a box (see delivery times in the ‘Delivery’ section further down).
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II was easy to remove from its packaging, however we still recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box. The mattress comes with a handy cutting tool to help with this process.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress also comes with a free pillow set. More specifically, king and queen size mattresses both come with 2 long pillows and 2 normal pillows (see photo below).
The mattress comes with a neat product booklet as well as a handy cutting tool. Unpacking the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.
Aesthetically, the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II has a sleek, modern appearance. It uses a white and grey colour theme with a dense network of stitching on the top cover. Its brand name embroidery also gives it a nice touch of class.
Comfort and support
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II has a breathable top cover that is removable and washable. This cover has been designed for airflow and ventilation, and feels soft and smooth to touch. The zip mechanism is strong and smooth, making the cover easy to remove.
This cover sits over layers of gel air memory foam, natural latex, and soft foam. These layers have a spongy sensation with a comfortable, medium feel.
This comfort layer offers nice pressure relief, and absorbs bodyweight evenly. It should suit all sleeping positions (back sleepers, side sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but, understandably this suitability will vary between individuals.
Based on our testing, our team rated it as a ‘medium feel’ and an 5.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
The main support structure of this mattress is a 7 zone, independent pocket spring system. This offers good back support and should accommodate people of all sizes. It feels quite sturdy and partner disturbance is not significant.
This comfort layer offers nice pressure relief, and absorbs bodyweight evenly.
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II has contains a layer of Eco Memory Foam under its pocket spring system.
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II responds beautifully to normal sleep movements. As such, we rated its level of responsiveness as optimal. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The overall quality and refinement of the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II is admirable. Edge support is very good, thanks to its foam encased perimeter.
Its lack of side handles is disappointing. Although the mattress is not extraordinarily heavy, carrying and manoeuvring the mattress may be a challenge without anywhere to grip.
It’s worth noting that this mattress contains non-toxic fabrics, certified by OEKO-TEX®. Its foams are also certified non-toxic by CertiPur-US®.
The Valmori Latex Mattress II has a solid 100 night trial period, and a 15 year warranty, giving you plenty of peace of mind.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.
Furthermore, we do not recommend the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.

Final verdict
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II is a very nice, all round mattress that is well balanced with comfort and support. It offers good value and comes with a 100 night trial period.
