Valmori Spring Mattress Review
The Valmori Spring Mattress forms part of the Valmori mattress range. This collection also includes the mid range Valmori Latex Mattress and the Valmori Hybrid Mattress.
Purchase and delivery
As with other beds in a box, the Valmori Spring Mattress can be conveniently ordered online (through the Valmori website). Delivery is free and your mattress will arrive at your door in a box (see delivery times in the ‘Delivery’ section further down).
The Valmori Spring Mattress was easy to remove from its packaging, however we still recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box. The mattress comes with a handy cutting tool to help with this process.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress also comes with a free pillow set (see photo below). King and queen size mattresses come with 2 long pillows and 2 normal pillows, and king single size mattresses come with 1 long pillow and 1 normal pillow.
The mattress comes with a neat product booklet as well as a handy cutting tool. Unpacking the Valmori Spring Mattress should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.
Aesthetically, the Valmori Spring Mattress has a simple, classic look. It uses a white and black colour theme, with traditional square stitching on the top cover. Its brand name label is located on the side of the mattress.
Comfort and support
The Valmori Spring Mattress has a top cover that has been designed for airflow and ventilation. As such, this may help with temperature regulation.
This cover sits over a layer of gel-infused memory foam, a layer of soft foam, and layers of high density foam. These comfort layers create a noticeably firm sleeping surface, but there is some pressure relief so it doesn’t feel too ‘hard’.
This mattress would most likely suit back sleepers, but it may also suit side sleepers and stomach sleepers. Understandably though, its suitability will vary between individuals.
Based on our testing, our team rated it as a ‘firm’ feel and an 8.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
The main support structure of this mattress is a 7 zone pocket spring system. This spring unit offers good back support and should accommodate people of all sizes. It feels quite stable and partner disturbance is not significant.

The Valmori Spring Mattress responds nicely to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness in the ‘optimal’ zone. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The overall quality and refinement of the Valmori Spring Mattress is sound. It has good edge support, thanks to its foam encased perimeter construction. Its lack of side handles is noticeable though, so carrying and manoeuvring the mattress can be a challenge.
The Valmori Spring Mattress has a solid 100 night trial period, and a 15 year warranty, giving you plenty of peace of mind.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Valmori Spring Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.
Furthermore, we do not recommend the Valmori Spring Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.

The Valmori Spring Mattress is a nice option for those who prefer a distinctly firmer feel to their mattress. It provides good back support, and comes with an impressive 15 year warranty.
