Purchase and delivery
As with other beds in a box, the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II can be conveniently ordered online (through the Valmori website). Delivery is free to most areas and your mattress will arrive at your door in a box.

The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II was easy to remove from its packaging, however we still recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box. The mattress comes with a handy cutting tool to help with this process.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress also comes with a free pillow set. Large sizes (king, queen, and double) all come with 2 long pillows and 2 normal pillows. Smaller sizes (single and king single) receive 1 of each pillow.
These pillows are very nice and are certainly not poor quality gimmicks – see photo below.
The mattress also comes with a neat product booklet as well as a handy cutting tool. Unpacking the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.
Aesthetically, the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II has a sleek, modern appearance. It uses a white and grey colour theme with a dense network of stitching on the top cover.
Its brand name embroidery also gives it a nice touch of class.
Mattress construction
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II is made up of a number of parts and materials.
1. Removable Breathable Cover
The top cover of this mattress is manufactured to inhibit the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and dust mites. From a practical stand point, the cover is removable and machine-washable for easy cleaning.
2. Gel Air Memory Foam
Sitting under the top cover is a later of Gel Air Memory Foam. This layer is hypoallergenic and is ideal for sensitive skin. This foam helps to provide support and pressure relief whilst increasing airflow for sleep temperature regulation.
3. Natural Latex
A layer of natural latex also forms part of the top comfort layer of this mattress. This latex layer is made with environmentally-friendly, toxic-free materials for your safety and peace of mind.
4. Soft Foam
For additional comfort, this layer of soft foam utilises the latest in pressure relief and comfort technologies.
5. 7-Zone Independent Pocket Spring
The support structure of the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II is made of tailored premium pocket springs. These are aimed at producing reliable spinal support with minimal partner disturbance.
Additionally, the border of the spring unit provides firm edge support, allowing users to sit comfortably on the mattress edge.
6. Eco Memory Foam
Sitting under the spring system is a layer of Eco Memory Foam. This may help to enhance comfort and cooling even further.
Comfort and support
The top cover of the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II feels soft, smooth, and cool to touch.
The blending of the comfort layers produce a soft, spongy sensation with a medium feel. These layers offer nice pressure relief and they absorb bodyweight evenly.
The mattress should suit all sleeping positions (back sleepers, side sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but, understandably this suitability will vary between individuals.

We tested the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II on the Chiropedic Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
The spring system offers good back support and should accommodate people of all sizes. It feels quite sturdy and partner disturbance is not significant.
The top cover of the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II feels soft, smooth, and cool to touch.
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II responds well to normal sleep movements. As such, we rated its level of responsiveness as optimal. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The overall quality and refinement of the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II is admirable. Edge support is serviceable, thanks to the firm springs around the mattress perimeter.
The zip mechanism that can be used to remove the top cover (for washing) is strong, smooth, and user-friendly.
Although the mattress is not extraordinarily heavy, the lack of side handles is disappointing. Carrying and manoeuvring the mattress may be tricky without anywhere to grip.
It’s worth noting that this mattress contains non-toxic fabrics, certified by OEKO-TEX®. Its foams are also certified non-toxic by CertiPur-US®.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.
A bed base with solid slats such as the Chiropedic Bed Base, would also be very suitable.
Furthermore, we do not recommend the Valmori Hybrid Mattress II to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Trial period and warranty
The Valmori Hybrid Mattress II comes with a 100 night trial period, which is a typical trial period in the online mattress market. This means that you can return the mattress for a refund if you are not satisfied (conditions do apply).
This mattress also comes with a 15 year warranty to cover any faulty materials or workmanship. This warranty period is superior to its similarly priced competitors.
