Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress Review
The Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress forms part of the Valmori mattress collection. This collection also includes the Valmori Spring Mattress and the Valmori Hybrid Mattress.
Purchase and delivery
As with other beds in a box, the Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress can be conveniently ordered online (through the Valmori website). Delivery is free and your mattress will arrive at your door in a box (see delivery times in the ‘Delivery’ section further down).
The Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress was easy to remove from its packaging, however we still recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box. The mattress comes with a handy cutting tool to help with this process.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress also comes with a free pillow set (see photo below). King and queen size mattresses come with 2 long pillows and 2 normal pillows, and king single size mattresses come with 1 long pillow and 1 normal pillow.
Unpacking the Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.
Aesthetically, the Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress has a modern, funky appearance. It uses a white and orange colour theme with a dense network of stitching on the top cover. Its brand name embroidery also gives it a nice touch of class.
Comfort and support
The Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress has a top cover that is removable and washable, making it easy to keep your mattress surface clean.
This cover has been designed for airflow and ventilation, and may also help with temperature regulation. The zip mechanism is strong and smooth, making the cover easy to remove.
This cover sits over a layer of air memory foam and a layer of natural latex. These comfort layers have a dense feel that moulds tightly to the body. It doesn’t absorb bodyweight as evenly as some other mattresses, but it should accommodate all sleeping positions.
Based on our testing, our team rated it as a ‘medium-firm feel’ and a 7 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.

The main support structure of this mattress consists of a layer of gel infused memory foam and a layer of high density support foam. These layers combine to offer decent back support and should accommodate people of all sizes. It feels quite stable and partner disturbance is not significant.
These comfort layers have a dense feel that moulds tightly to the body.
The Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress doesn’t respond to normal sleep movements too well. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) may be easier on other mattresses.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The overall quality and refinement of the Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress is respectable. Edge support is within normal limits for a foam based mattress, and its low profile height (25 cm) may be a selling point for those who don’t like higher profile mattresses.
Its lack of side handles is disappointing, so carrying and manoeuvring the mattress can be a challenge.
It’s worth noting that this mattress contains non-toxic fabrics, certified by OEKO-TEX®. Its foams are also certified non-toxic by CertiPUR-US®.
The Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress has a solid 100 night trial period, and a 15 year warranty, giving you plenty of peace of mind.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Valmori S-Shape Foam Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.
