You can order the Roman Back Support Luxury Pocket Spring Mattress online (through the KA Beddings website) and it will be delivered to your door in a compact box.
This mattress is only deliverable to Sydney metropolitan areas. Once your order is placed, it will be dispatched on the next business day.
Our box arrived in reasonable condition and removing the mattress from its packaging should take around 10-15 minutes. As always, we recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box.
Keep in mind that there will be a substantial amount of packaging to dispose of. So, some planning may be required along with plenty of bin space.

The top cover feels soft and breathable.
The main comfort layer feels comfortable with plenty of pressure relief. We did notice a sinking sensation during sitting and in some sleep positions, so it doesn’t absorb body weight as smoothly as some other mattresses in this price bracket.

The quality of the foams and fabrics is of a good standard, but we found the spring system a little substandard in terms of quality.
The main comfort layer feels comfortable with plenty of pressure relief.
The Roman Back Support Luxury Pocket Spring Mattress isolates motion to some degree, but we detect some partner disturbance on normal sleep movements.
With that said, motion transfer may vary. A larger mattress (e.g. king size) will usually involve lower amounts of motion transfer. Partner disturbance will also depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.
The Roman Back Support Luxury Pocket Spring Mattress comes with vertically positioned side handles. These handles are attached are large and easy to use.
Side handles will make moving or transporting a mattress easier so credit to KA Beddings for including them on this product.
Edge support is a little flimsy – not surprising on a mattress with a medium-soft feel. So, the mattress perimeter wasn’t as firm or stable as some other mattresses we have tested.
It’s worth noting here that the Roman Back Support Luxury Pocket Spring Mattress uses materials that are certified as non-toxic by OEKO-TEX® and CertiPUR-US®.
This gives the buyer the reassurance that the product has been tested and is free of harmful substances.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Roman Back Support Luxury Pocket Spring Mattress to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.
A bed base with solid slats (with slats no longer than 8 cm apart) such as the Chiropedic Bed Base, would also be very suitable.
We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will void the mattress warranty.
We don’t recommend the Roman Back Support Luxury Pocket Spring Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may cause damage to the mattress components.
