Euri Designer Foam Mattress Review
The Euri Designer Foam Mattress is Australian made and can be purchased in a number of different firmness options, colour themes, and finishings. Each mattress comes with a 100 night trial period, and is custom made to order in Euri’s Melbourne factory.
Purchase and delivery
As with other mattress in a box products, the Euri Designer Foam Mattress can be conveniently ordered online (through the Euri website). Delivery is free and your mattress will arrive at your door in a compact box (see delivery times in the ‘Delivery’ section further down).
The Euri Designer Foam Mattress allows you to choose between various options such as firmness and trim colour (see shop page screenshot below). The choices include a ‘soft/firm’ version (soft on one side, firm on the other), a ‘medium/firm’ version, trim colours, side fabric, and top covers.
This method of product selection is unique in the bed in a box market, and is congruent with Euri’s modern, stylish brand image. If you aren’t fussed on the personalisation aspect, you can scroll to the bottom of Euri’s homepage and simply choose the most popular combination for each size.
Once you have placed your order, Euri will make your mattress (within 48 hours), compress it into a box, and ship it to your door. This removes long storage times, and ensures that your mattress isn’t sitting in a compressed state for weeks or months.
Our box arrived in good condition, and was noticeably light in weight, making it easy to carry. The mattress was easy to remove from its packaging, and includes a handy cutting tool. As always, we still recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box.
The box contained much less plastic wrapping than any other bed in a box that we have tested, so we must acknowledge Euri for considering the environment in their production process.
Unpacking the Euri Designer Foam Mattress should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.
Aesthetically, the Euri Designer Foam Mattress has a simple, yet modern look. The mattress is predominantly white, but uses a number of stylish trim colours. Its brand name label also gives it a nice touch.
Comfort and support
The Euri Designer Foam Mattress with a delightful Australian-made luxury soft knit quilted cover (labelled 1 in the picture below). This cover is hypoallergenic and feels soft and breathable. You can also order a premium Australian-made ‘natural cotton quilted’ cover, but we really liked the feel of the standard cover.
This cover sits over an Australian-made hypoallergenic (270 grams per square metre) wadding (2) for an extra touch of comfort.
Depending on your chosen firmness level, the comfort layer uses Australian-made GECA-certified foam (4). The firm version feels foamy, spongy, and is fairly comfortable. With that said, it isn’t particularly responsive and doesn’t absorb body weight as smoothly as some other foam mattresses that we have tested.
Based on our testing, our team rated the firm option as a ‘firm feel’ and an 8 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). This option should suit most back sleepers, but it may also suit side sleepers and stomach sleepers as well. Understandably, this suitability will vary between individuals.
Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
Firm version
Not surprisingly, we found the medium version softer than the firm version, but the difference wasn’t significant. It offers a little more pressure relief than the firm version, but still has a characteristic ‘spongy’ feel.
This option should suit all sleeping positions (back sleepers, side sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but again, this will vary between individuals.
Based on our testing, our team rated the medium option as a ‘medium-firm feel’ and an 7 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).
Medium version
The main support system of the Euri Designer Foam Mattress a firm, foam core. This is also Australian made, and is GECA-certified. This foam layer feels reasonably sturdy, and provides reasonable spinal support. Euri lists the weight capacity of a queen mattress at 300 kgs, so it should accommodate people of most sizes.
As we alluded to earlier, the Euri Designer Foam Mattress doesn’t have the natural bounce and responsiveness of many innerspring mattresses. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) may be easier on other mattresses.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The Euri Designer Foam Mattress is one of only a small number of mattresses on the market today that is a true ‘double sided’ mattress. Most mattresses in Australia only have a comfort layer on one side, and cannot be ‘flipped over’.
In terms of build quality, the Euri Designer Foam Mattress is respectable. The vented mesh on our sample felt divine, and its quality and finishings appeared to be of good quality.
Side handles can be added for an additional $15, and this should help with transport and rotation. Edge support is a little soft, but not surprising for a foam mattress.
In terms of product weight, the Euri Designer Foam Mattress is noticeably light (33 kgs, queen size). This makes the mattress easy to unpack, transport, and to change the bed sheets (which can be difficult with heavier mattresses). As a comparison, innerspring mattresses like the Eva Mattress (55kgs) and the Sleeping Duck Mattress (53 kgs) are significantly heavier.
The Euri Designer Foam Mattress comes with a 100 night trial period, meaning that you can return the mattress for a refund if you are not satisfied. It also comes with a 10 year warranty and (as mentioned previously) its foam layers are certified as non-toxic by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA).
As with many many other foam mattresses, partner disturbance on the Euri Designer Foam Mattress is minimal. This will depend though on the size (and weight) of the occupants of the bed.
It’s worth noting here that the Euri Designer Foam Mattress is one of only a handful of bed in a box products that is Australian made. Other Australian made beds in a box include the Hugo Mattress, the Sleep Firm Mattress, the Serenity HLP Mattress, the Pure Trio Mattress, and the Sommuto Mattress.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Euri Designer Foam Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.
Sleep Republic Pro Base
Furthermore, we do not recommend the Euri Designer Foam Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Available sizes
The Euri Designer Foam Mattress is available in 5 sizes (king, queen, double, king single, and single size) so it should accommodate most sleeping situations.
Here are Australia’s standard bed (mattress) sizes in 2024.
Final verdict
The Euri Designer Foam Mattress is a nice foam mattress that uses non-toxic, Australian made foams. It has an impressive ‘made to order’ process and has the flexibility of a dual firmness design.

Euri’s multi-layered construction brings together the finest Australian-made, environmentally friendly components to achieve a perfect blend of comfort and support.
Our quilted top utilises 3 luxurious layers to provide the ultimate in welcoming softness. Quilting helps to prevent bunching, stretching, or creasing of the material over time, helping to ensure the longevity of your mattress.
Our foam comfort layer allows you to find the perfect level of firmness for your most comfortable night’s sleep, while our core layer offers the support and strength necessary to foster maximal spinal health.
Carefully crafted in our Melbourne factory, all of these components are combined to create a mattress that feels like home.
