Purchase and delivery
The Emma Storage Bed can be ordered online (through the Emma website) and it will arrive at your door in 2 separate boxes (queen size).
Delivery of the Emma Storage Bed is free and it can be delivered to anywhere in Australia. A normal delivery time is anywhere from 0-7 days. For more details about delivery, see our Delivery information section further down.
The Emma Storage Bed comes with plenty of good quality packaging to ensure that the components are well protected during transport. The product components were all in excellent condition when we removed the packaging.
Assembling
Firstly, assembling this bed base will involve a lot of time (approximately 1.5 hours) and patience. You will almost definitely need two people to assemble this bed.
The bed does not come with an instruction booklet. There is a link to some online instructions, but we found these hard to follow. The short video below may help to demonstrate some of the main steps.
This bed base contains a large number of different parts, pieces, and attachments. We would strongly recommend laying all the pieces out onto the floor before you start assembling.
You won’t need any additional tools – Allen keys, spanners, and screws are all included.
Once assembled, the Emma Storage Bed presents with a simple, stylish design. It comes in a light grey colour and should match many bedroom decor themes.
Stability and practicality
The Emma Storage Bed uses a number of posture/flexible slats that attach to the side bean and the central beam. Although we recommend solid slats over posture slats, this bed should be serviceable for many mattresses.
To this point, the bed provides adequate support and stability, but we have tested bed bases that are more stable.
The overall quality of the wood, fabrics, and attachments is sound. A queen size bed base has a storage capacity of 708 litres.
The bed base does exceed the dimensions of the mattress slightly, but this extra length and width is minimal. So, it’s unlikely that you will be knocking or banging your shins on the sides.
One important thing to note is that the gas springs will only work properly, once a mattress has been placed on the slats. With the weight of a mattress, the gas springs won’t compress.

How much are shipping costs?
Shipping and return costs are free.
Please note however, if your collection address lies outside our normal delivery area then we might ask for your help to deliver your mattress to the nearest drop off location after all other options have been exhausted.
How does the delivery process work?
Orders placed before 10 am on weekdays are eligible for same-day delivery (between 2-6 pm) in the metro areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Otherwise you will receive your mattress within 1-3 business days depending on your proximity to our warehouses..
For metro orders, a tracking link is sent to you via SMS on the day of your delivery so that you can live track the progress of the driver.
For regional deliveries, an email will be sent that will allow you to track the progress of your delivery throughout each step.
How long does the delivery take?
Normally, delivery of your mattress should be completed 0-7 business days after you placed your order.
