Unpacking the Sleep Republic Kids Mattress should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.
The Sleep Republic Kids Mattress box arrived in good condition and the mattress was easy to remove from its packaging. With that said, we always recommend having two people to assist in the unpacking process.

From top to bottom, the Sleep Republic Kids Mattress starts with a cashmere and organic cotton knitted fabric cover. These natural fibres help to create a soft, durable sleeping surface and also allow good ventilation.
Underneath this top cover is a layer of premium density foam quilting and a layer of 100% natural latex. These materials have been added to provide a comfortable and durable comfort layer.
The main support structure of the Sleep Republic Kids Mattress is a high definition 5 zone pocket spring system. This spring unit has over 3 times more springs (1,081) than a standard pocket spring mattress (336). More springs generally helps to improve support and durability in a mattress, and can also help to reduce partner disturbance.
To enhance edge support, this mattress uses high tensile steel springs around the full perimeter of the mattress. This allows the user to use the entire surface of the mattress, without fear of falling off the edge.
Comfort and support
The Sleep Republic Kids Mattress is remarkably well balanced with comfort and support. Its top cover feels soft and smooth, and the comfort layers absorb body weight beautifully.
This mattress should suit toddlers from around the age of 2, all the way up to teenagers around the age of 16. With that said, this mattress is very suitable for co-sleeping and should accommodate most adults comfortably.

The overall build quality of the Sleep Republic Kids Mattress is outstanding. Edge support is noticeably strong and this should prevent your child from rolling off the edge of the mattress – an important safety feature for any kids mattress.

In context of co-sleeping, partner disturbance is very minimal. This should improve the sleep experience for any child or adult, as a restless occupant shouldn’t cause much disruption. What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Sleep Republic Kids Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame with ‘rigid’ slats (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base). It is recommended that the space between the slats does not exceed 8cm.
