Purchase and delivery

How do I buy the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress?

The Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress can be purchased online via the Kogan website, with a straightforward ordering process and several delivery options available depending on location and urgency.

Kogan offers standard delivery, which is estimated to arrive within 1–5 business days in most areas. For those needing the mattress sooner, express delivery is also available on eligible orders, with estimated delivery times of 1–2 business days. Kogan also advertises fast dispatch, with many orders leaving the warehouse within 1–2 business days.

For larger items such as mattresses, scheduled delivery options may also be available. Once an order is confirmed, customers may be contacted by the courier to arrange a suitable delivery day. A premium scheduled delivery service is offered in select areas, which can include packaging removal and old mattress removal if required.

Our mattress arrived well packaged and in good condition. As with most mattresses in a box, setup is relatively simple, although the box can still be fairly bulky and awkward to manoeuvre. We’d generally recommend having two people available to assist with carrying and setup.

Once unpackaged, the mattress begins expanding immediately. While it can usually be slept on within several hours, allowing up to 48 hours for full expansion is recommended for best results.

Aesthetics and presentation

What does the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress look like?

The Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress has a clean and fairly contemporary appearance that should suit most modern bedroom settings. It features a white quilted Euro top paired with dark grey side panels, creating a simple contrast that gives the mattress a slightly more premium presentation than many typical budget mattresses in a box.

At 34cm in height, this is a relatively tall mattress and it has a substantial presence once placed on a bed base. The quilted top panel gives it a plush and inviting look, while the diamond-patterned side fabric adds a touch of texture and visual interest without feeling overly flashy.

Overall, the design is neat and well presented. It doesn’t attempt to reinvent the wheel aesthetically, but it looks modern, practical, and more premium than its price point might initially suggest.

Mattress construction

What’s inside the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress?

The Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress is an innerspring mattress that combines several foam comfort layers with a zoned pocket spring support system.

1. Belgian Knitted Fabric

A breathable knitted top fabric designed to promote airflow and provide a soft, comfortable sleep surface.

Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress

2. Comfort Foam

A cushioning comfort layer intended to create a plush initial feel and gentle pressure relief.

3. Support Foam

A secondary foam layer designed to assist with body contouring and provide additional support across key pressure points.

4. Non-Woven Fabric

A protective fabric layer that helps separate and support the internal comfort materials while also assisting with moisture management.

5. High-Density Foam

A firmer foam layer that contributes to the mattress’s overall structural stability and long-term durability.

6. Protective Cover

A protective layer positioned above the spring system to help shield and stabilise the internal pocket springs.

7. 7-Zone Pocket Springs

An independently wrapped pocket spring system arranged into seven support zones, designed to provide varying levels of support across areas such as the head, shoulders, lower back, hips, legs, and feet while also helping to reduce partner disturbance.

Comfort and support

What’s it like to sleep on the Ergoluxe Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress?

The Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress offers a comfortable and surprisingly capable sleep experience, particularly when viewed in the context of its very affordable price point.

The Belgian knitted cover feels soft and reasonably breathable to the touch, creating a pleasant sleeping surface. While it doesn’t have the luxurious feel of a premium mattress, it performs well for a product in this category and feels comfortable against the skin.

Beneath the cover, the comfort layers provide a surprisingly comfortable feel. They absorb body weight nicely and offer a good degree of cushioning without feeling unstable or overly soft. Overall comfort is very serviceable and should suit a broad range of sleepers looking for an affordable mattress that doesn’t feel overly basic.

Our team rated this mattress a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).

Firmness rating

This firmness level should suit most sleeping positions, including side, back, stomach, and combination sleepers, although individual preferences will vary.

Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.

Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.

We tested the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress on the Porto Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.

The 7-zone pocket spring system provides a reasonable level of support. While we wouldn’t describe it as heavy-duty, it performs well in the context of its price point and should be more than adequate for most sleepers.

Compared with many mattresses at a similar price, the support is surprisingly competent and should prove suitable for everyday use.

Heavier individuals (around 100kg or more) may want something more robust, but for the average sleeper, support should be more than adequate.

The Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress also responds well to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness in the optimal zone. In practical terms, this means changing sleep positions should feel easy and natural throughout the night.

Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.

The finer details

What else should I know?

When viewed in the context of its exceptionally low price point, the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress performs surprisingly well in terms of overall build quality and presentation.

The materials and finishing are generally better than we would typically expect at this end of the market, and we think it would be difficult to find significantly better workmanship at a similar price.

One area where the budget positioning becomes apparent is around the side panels. During our assessment, the underlying spring system could be felt through the side fabric, which suggests a lower level of refinement than we would expect from a premium mattress.

While this isn’t necessarily a functional problem, it does provide some insight into the overall level of craftsmanship and material specification. Having said that, when viewed in the context of the mattress’s exceptionally low price point, the overall build quality still compares favourably with many competing products.

While it doesn’t aim to be a premium product, the build quality is solid for the price point.

The mattress is fitted with four side handles in total – two on each side – positioned vertically and generously sized to allow a comfortable grip. They appear securely attached and are an impressive inclusion at this price point.

Side handles are often omitted from budget mattresses, so this represents a welcome touch from Ergolux and makes rotating or repositioning the mattress considerably easier.

In terms of partner disturbance, there is some movement transfer across the mattress surface, which is not unexpected given the mattress’s price category. We would not describe it as excessive, however, and most couples should find it acceptable for everyday use.

As always, the level of partner disturbance will vary depending on mattress size, sleeping habits, and the body weight of each occupant.

Edge support is serviceable overall, although there is some compression when weight is applied directly to the perimeter. While most users should be able to comfortably utilise the majority of the sleeping surface, heavier individuals may notice more sinking when sitting on the edge of the mattress.

We’ve certainly tested stronger edge support systems, but again, the performance here is reasonable when considered alongside the very low purchase price.

Temperature regulation was also satisfactory during our assessment. We did not notice any unusual heat retention, although sleeping temperature is influenced by a range of factors including bedding choices, room conditions, the occupants of the bed, and the broader sleep environment.

Overall, temperature performance should be in line with what most consumers would expect from a modern innerspring mattress.

Bed base compatibility

What type of bed base should I use?

As with most mattresses, we recommend the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.

A bed base with solid slats such as the Sleep Republic Deluxe Bed Base, would also be very suitable.

Koala Paddington Bed Base

We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will void the mattress warranty.

We don’t recommend the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may cause damage to the mattress components. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.

It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.

Trial period and warranty

What happens if I don’t like it?

The Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress is backed by a 5-year warranty, which covers manufacturing faults and defects under normal residential use. This provides a reasonable level of coverage for a mattress in this price category, although it is shorter than the warranties offered by some premium mattress brands.

As this mattress is sold through Kogan, returns for change of mind are generally only accepted if the mattress remains unopened and sealed in its original packaging due to hygiene reasons. Customers are encouraged to carefully review sizing and suitability before opening the product.

As with most mattress warranties, general wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or issues caused by an unsuitable bed base are unlikely to be covered. Warranty terms and return policies may also vary depending on the retailer and delivery location.

Available sizes

What size options are available?

This mattress is available in 5 sizes (king, queen, double, king single, and single) so it should accommodate most sleeping arrangements.

The graphic below includes all of Australia’s standard bed (mattress) sizes in 2026. Again please note that the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress is available in 5 of these sizes.

Final verdict

Should I buy the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress?

The Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress is a serviceable mattress that delivers a reasonable level of comfort, support, and practicality for everyday use. While it doesn’t offer the refinement or performance of more expensive mattresses, it performs surprisingly well across the areas that matter most.

What really sets this mattress apart is its exceptionally low price. When viewed in that context, the overall package is genuinely impressive. Comfort and support should be adequate for many sleepers, and day-to-day usability is better than we would typically expect at this end of the market.

Overall, we feel the Ergolux Luxe Pocket Spring Mattress represents excellent value for money and is a strong option for budget-conscious shoppers.
