As with most mattresses in a box, our Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress arrived compressed and rolled inside a cardboard box, which was in reasonable condition on delivery.

There was a fair amount of packaging to dispose of, including cardboard and plastic, so it’s worth planning ahead for bin space. No cutting tool was included in the box, so you’ll need scissors or a similar tool to remove the plastic wrapping.
As per our standard testing procedure, we allowed the mattress to fully decompress for 48 hours before beginning our hands-on testing.
Aesthetics and Presentation
What does it look like in real life?
The Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress has a clean, contemporary appearance, finished in a neutral colour palette of white and grey with subtle teal accents. The removable cover features light quilting and restrained branding, giving the mattress a tidy, modern look that suits a wide range of bedroom styles.
At 25cm high, the mattress has a balanced, streamlined profile with simple side panels and minimal visual detailing.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress?
1. Cooling performance cover
The Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress is topped with a removable cooling performance cover, finished in a clean white fabric with subtle detailing. The cover is designed to be easily removed for hand or machine washing, contributing to the mattress’s neat, modern presentation.

2. Gel-infused memory foam comfort layer
Directly beneath the cover sits a layer of gel-infused memory foam, identifiable by its light blue colour. This layer is designed to provide the mattress’s primary comfort feel while forming the upper visual layer in the mattress profile.
3. Egg crate polyurethane foam layer
Below the memory foam is a profiled polyurethane foam layer with an egg crate-style design. This layer adds visual depth to the construction and contributes to the overall layered appearance of the mattress core.
4. Convoluted PU foam base
The support core consists of a thicker convoluted polyurethane foam base, finished in a neutral tone. This layer gives the mattress its overall structure and accounts for much of the mattress’s 25cm total height.
5. Anti-slip base fabric
The mattress is finished with a dark grey anti-slip base fabric featuring subtle teal accents. This base layer completes the construction visually and helps keep the mattress positioned securely on the bed frame or adjustable base.
Comfort and support
What’s it like to sleep on the Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress?
The Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress delivers a noticeably spongy, adaptive feel, with the surface gently compressing under body weight and moulding closely to the body. This creates a comfortable, pressure-relieving sensation without feeling overly restrictive or slow to respond.
During testing, our team rated the mattress at 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, placing it squarely in the medium range.
Firmness rating

This balanced feel should suit a wide range of sleeping positions, including side, back, and combination sleepers, particularly those who prefer a softer, more conforming sleep surface. The foam base section should offer serviceable back support but we would recommend a strong innerspring mattress for heavier (100kgs or more) people.
Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress on the Porto Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
The Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress doesn’t respond particularly well to normal sleep movements. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) may require some effort.
Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
The overall build quality of the Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress is fair. The removable cover appears durable, with a large zip pull that’s easy to use. Even after allowing the mattress to decompress for 48 hours, we noticed some minor unevenness along parts of the edge, though this was subtle and unlikely to be noticeable for most sleepers.
Thanks to its all-foam construction, motion isolation performed well during testing, meaning partner disturbance should be minimal for most users. As with any mattress, motion transfer will vary depending on mattress size, with larger sizes such as king generally offering lower levels of motion transfer. Partner disturbance will also depend on the size and movement of the occupants.

Edge support is within normal expectations for a lower-profile all-foam mattress, but it is not a strong point. There is some compression and roll-off sensation near the edges, which is typical of foam mattresses and generally less supportive than many innerspring designs.
Sleep temperature can be more variable with full foam mattresses due to reduced airflow. While we didn’t detect any abnormal heat retention during our testing, sleep temperature is influenced by a range of factors including bedding, room temperature, humidity, and individual sleep preferences.
The mattress does not include side handles, which can make manoeuvring slightly less convenient. That said, the mattress isn’t particularly heavy, which helps offset the lack of handles when moving or rotating it.
In terms of materials, the mattress holds CertiPUR-US® and OEKO-TEX® certifications. CertiPUR-US® indicates the foams have been tested for harmful chemicals, while OEKO-TEX® certification applies to the textiles used in the mattress cover.

Bed base compatibility
What type of bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Dreamsuite Flex Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.
A bed base with solid slats such as the Porto Bed Base, would also be very suitable.
We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will void the mattress warranty.
We don’t recommend the be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base. as this may cause damage to the mattress components. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
