Purchase and delivery
You can order the Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress online (through the KA Beddings website) and it will be delivered to your door in a compact box.
This mattress is only deliverable to Sydney metropolitan areas. Once your order is placed, it will be dispatched on the next business day.
Our box arrived in reasonable condition and removing the mattress from its packaging should take around 10-15 minutes. As always, we recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box.
Keep in mind that there will be a substantial amount of packaging to dispose of. So, some planning may be required along with plenty of bin space.
The Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress presents with a white and dark grey colour theme, along with decorative patterns on the top cover. The mattress also contains brand and name labels at the base, along with an OEKO-TEX® label on the side.
The mattress sits 34cm high which is slightly higher than average for a typical mattress but still well within the normal height range for an innerspring mattress.
Mattress construction
As we mentioned above, the Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress is an innerspring mattress and contains a number of materials in its comfort layer.

Underneath the top cover sits a layer of high density cool gel infused memory foam.

The main support structure of this mattress is a 5 Zoned Pocket Spring system.
Comfort and support
The top cover feels soft, smooth, and well ventilated.
The main comfort layer feels spongy and should offer enough comfort for most people. We did notice a slight sinking sensation during sitting and in some sleep positions, overall this mattress is quite nice to sleep on.
The Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers), but this suitability will vary between individuals.
We rated this mattress as a medium feel. In terms of a specific firmness rating, our reviewers settled on an 5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest), based on a majority vote.

We tested the Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress on the Soho Slimline Base which is a good quality bed base with solid slats.
Spinal support is decent, but this mattress may not accommodate the needs of larger (heavier) people or those who require a particularly firm mattress.
The Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress responds well to normal sleep movements. As such, we rated the level of responsiveness of this mattress in the optimal zone. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Responsiveness
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The overall build quality of the Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress is reasonable.
The quality of the foams and fabrics is of a good standard, but we found the spring system a little substandard compared with others in this price bracket.
The main comfort layer feels spongy and should offer enough comfort for most people.
As noted above, the spring system is quite responsive and this may result in some partner disturbance on some sleep movements.
With that said, motion transfer may vary. A larger mattress (e.g. king size) will usually involve lower amounts of motion transfer. Partner disturbance will also depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.
The Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress comes with vertically positioned side handles. These handles are attached are large and easy to use.
Side handles will make moving or transporting a mattress easier so credit to KA Beddings for including them on this product.
Edge support holds up OK – not amazing but serviceable.
So, the mattress perimeter should accommodate sitting activities and should allow each user to use the entire surface of the mattress without fear of rolling off the edge.
It’s worth noting here that the Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress uses materials that are certified as non-toxic by OEKO-TEX® and CertiPUR-US®.
This gives the buyer the reassurance that the product has been tested and is free of harmful substances.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.
A bed base with solid slats (with slats no longer than 8 cm apart) such as the Chiropedic Bed Base, would also be very suitable.
We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will void the mattress warranty.
We don’t recommend the Premiere Deluxe Pocket Spring Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may cause damage to the mattress components.
