Luxo Luxe Mattress Review
The Luxo Luxe Mattress contains latex and a combination of different foams. It is strikingly similar to the popular Ecosa Mattress and has an almost identical ‘customisation’ feature.
Purchase and delivery
As with other mattress in a box products, the Luxo Luxe Mattress can be conveniently ordered online (through the Luxo Living website), and it will arrive at your door in a box. Delivery times can be viewed below in the ‘Delivery’ section of this review.
Removing the Luxo Luxe Mattress from its packaging was straight forward, but we recommend having two people available to unpack this mattress from its box. With this said, it is still possible with one person.
Unpacking the Luxo Luxe Mattress should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing. You can get a closer look at the Luxo Luxe Mattress in real life in their unboxing video below:
Visually, the Luxo Luxe Mattress has a simple and clean look. It uses a grey and white colour theme, along with black piping. The ‘Luxo’ brand embroidery gives it a nice touch.
Mattress construction
The Luxo Luxe Mattress starts with a Tencel fabric cover which feels soft and luxurious. This sits over a waterproof cover which, although handy, does create a strange ‘sandy’ feeling during sleep movements. Not a deal breaker but something worth noting.
These (Tencel and waterproof) covers sit over multiple comfort layers which include latex (white layer) and gel memory foam (blue layer). The main support structure of this mattress is a thick piece of support foam (yellow) which is ‘ribbed’, presumably for ventilation or to facilitate movement.
How does the customisation work?
One aspect of the Luxo Luxe Mattress that is unique is its ‘customisation’ feature. The latex and gel memory foam layers can be interchanged to create a medium, medium-firm, and firm feel. This allows you to choose a firmness (and feel) that suits your individual preference.
It’s worth noting that as much as the firm version is noticeably firmer, we didn’t notice much difference in the firmness options overall.
Comfort and support
The medium version involves the configuration of the gel memory foam on top, followed by the latex, and then the support foam. Our team rated it as a 8 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.

Lastly, the firm feel involves the the support foam on top, and then the gel memory foam and the latex. Our team rated it as a 8.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest):
Firm version
The firm version, (as you would expect) feels firm and dense. It doesn’t respond to body movements too well and isn’t overly comfortable. We would guess that most people would prefer the medium-firm or medium configuration with this mattress.
The medium-firm version (latex on top) still feels firm and dense but has a little more comfort than the firm version. The medium version was a little more comfortable still. We preferred the ‘medium’ option out of the three.
The Luxo Luxe Mattress seems to support the spine well in all sleeping positions, but like the Ecosa Mattress, there is a ‘hardness’ to this mattress that may not be to everyone’s taste. Nevertheless, partner disturbance is minimal and the customisation does provide more versatility than most mattresses.
The finer details
The Luxo Luxe Mattress has reasonable edge support, and the zips (that removes the Tencel cover and the waterproof cover) seem to function well. As such, removing the covers to exchange the foam layers wasn’t particularly difficult, although it will be easier with two people.
The Luxo Luxe Mattress offers a 100 night trial period and a 10 year warranty. We aren’t aware of any non-toxic specifications that this mattress holds.

Final verdict
The Luxo Luxe Mattress has a nice customisation feature, but unfortunately its level of comfort doesn’t quite match other products in its class. Nevertheless, it offers good back support and appears to be well made.
