Purchase and delivery
The Growbright Junior Mattress can be conveniently ordered online through the Growbright website.
It’s worth noting here that Growbright offers the option of purchasing the ‘Growbright Junior Sleep System‘ which includes the Junior Mattress, the airnest Junior Mattress topper, the Junior Bed Base, and the Junior Valance.
Growbright can deliver to major metro areas within 4 business days, but there may be some variation based on your location. Shipping is free to most areas in Australia – additional delivery charges may apply to locations outside of main centres. See our ‘Delivery’ section further down for more details.
The mattress arrived rolled up (and compressed) in a fabric bag that did not contain any plastic. We allowed the mattress to decompress for 24 hours before conducting our testing.
Aesthetically, the Growbright Junior Mattress has a bright and fresh appearance. It has a white, grey, and light blue colour theme, with a brand name label on the side.
Mattress construction
The top of this mattress is made of a soft knit (polyester) cover and breathable airmesh sides. This arimesh is designed to maximise airflow and ventilation.
The main body of the mattress consists of polyurethane foams, namely a shallow foam comfort layer and a deeper foam support core.
Comfort and support
The Growbright Junior Mattress has a foamy feel that is well balanced with comfort and support. The mattress firmness is suitable for the needs of young children. As a general guide, it is suitable for children from the ages 2 to 12.
Our review team rated this firm side an 7 / 10 firmness (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
The addition of the airnest Mattress Topper gives the mattress a more ‘meshy’ feel, but it doesn’t seem to change the level of firmness. Our review team still rated the mattress a 7 / 10 firmness with the airnest Mattress Topper.
With the airnest Mattress Topper
The Growbright Junior Mattress has a nice level of ‘bounce’ and responds well to normal sleep movements. We rated the level of responsiveness on this mattress in the optimal zone, so changing sleep positions shouldn’t be any trouble for your child.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The Growbright Junior Mattress comes with a handy 5 year warranty to cover any defects or faulty workmanship.
The overall craftsmanship of this mattress is very respectable. The finishings are well made and the stitching is strong.
Edge support is not amazing, but we wouldn’t expect a foam mattress such as this one to have a solid perimeter. Nevertheless, children should be able to use the full surface of the mattress without the fear of falling off the edge.
The outer cover can be removed with the zip mechanism, but this not recommended. Spot cleaning is advised if there is any spillage.
The zip is smooth and strong, and has a thoughtful safety feature. The zip pull requires an adult to dig it out of a small fabric cover with a paperclip. This would be too difficult for a child and would prevent any hazards involving the cover.

The Growbright Junior Mattress is available in 2 sizes (single and king single) so it should suit the needs of most children.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Products are couriered and tracked from our warehouse in Sydney. We typically expect delivery within 4 working days to most major metro areas, however some variation may occur depending on your location. If you’re having problems with delivery, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Is Shipping Free?
Shipping is free for all orders over $150. A flat rate ($10-$20 depending on your location) will be charged for orders under $150.
Where do you deliver?
We only sell products within Australia and New Zealand and can only ship to a location where we can provide a delivery service. Additional delivery charges may apply to locations outside of main centres s as advised when you place your order. We do not make deliveries outside of Australia or New Zealand. Please get in touch if you would like to order for New Zealand delivery.

Growbright’s unique mattress technology for single sided mattresses ensures your little one gets a quality night’s sleep every night without the need to ever flip your mattress. Rotate your mattress every two weeks for the first four months, then once every three months thereafter, as shown. To help equalise body impressions, please rotate your mattress as part of the maintenance of the product.
