Purchase and delivery
How do I buy the ErgoLux Support Mattress?
The ErgoLux Support Mattress can be purchased online through the Kogan website, with a straightforward ordering process and several delivery options available depending on location and urgency.
Kogan offers standard delivery, which is estimated to arrive within 1–5 business days in most areas. For those needing the mattress sooner, express delivery is also available on eligible orders, with estimated delivery times of 1–2 business days.
For larger items such as mattresses, scheduled delivery options may also be available. Once an order is confirmed, customers may be contacted by the courier to arrange a suitable delivery day. A premium scheduled delivery service is offered in selected areas, which can include packaging removal and old mattress removal if required.
The ErgoLux Support Mattress arrives compressed and rolled in a box for easier transport. Setup is relatively straightforward, although we recommend having two people available to assist with carrying and unpacking the mattress.
The mattress also comes with an information booklet and a handy metal cutting tool to help remove the plastic packaging safely and easily. These are thoughtful inclusions that make the unboxing process a little more convenient.
Once unpackaged, the mattress begins expanding immediately. While it can generally be used within several hours, allowing up to 48 hours for full expansion is recommended.
Aesthetics and presentation
What does the ErgoLux Support Mattress look like?
The ErgoLux Support Mattress has a modern and distinctive appearance, with a dark grey quilted sleeping surface and matching grey side panels. The contrasting black trim and subtle ErgoLux branding give the mattress a neat, contemporary look.

The sleeping surface features a deep, button-tufted pattern that creates a textured and slightly luxurious appearance. The vertically stitched side panels add further visual interest, while the thin Euro top gives the mattress a relatively streamlined design.
At 32cm high, the ErgoLux Support Mattress has a substantial profile and looks more premium than its affordable price point might suggest. Overall, the mattress is nicely presented, with a clean and practical design that should suit most modern bedrooms.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the ErgoLux Support Mattress?
The ErgoLux Support Mattress combines a Tencel knitted cover, charcoal-infused bamboo foam, and a 7-zone pocket spring system with reinforced edge support.
1. Tencel Knit Cover
The mattress features a soft Tencel knitted cover, designed to promote breathability and provide a comfortable sleeping surface.

2. Charcoal-Infused Bamboo Foam
Beneath the sleeping surface sits a layer of charcoal-infused bamboo foam, designed to provide additional cushioning while assisting with moisture management and freshness.
3. 7-Zone Pocket Spring System
The main support structure consists of individually wrapped pocket springs arranged into seven targeted support zones. This system is designed to distribute body weight evenly, provide support across different areas of the body, and help minimise partner disturbance.
4. Reinforced Edge Support
The mattress also features reinforced edge support, designed to improve stability around the perimeter and maximise the usable sleeping surface.
Comfort and support
What’s it like to sleep on the ErgoLux Support Mattress?
The Tencel knitted cover feels reasonable considering its price point, while the charcoal-infused bamboo foam provides a modest amount of cushioning. This helps to soften the sleeping surface slightly, although the mattress still has an unmistakably firm feel.
One limitation of the comfort layers is that heavier individuals may sink through the relatively thin cushioning and feel the underlying spring system. This is where the mattress’s budget construction becomes more apparent, and it may not provide adequate pressure relief for some sleepers.
Our team rated the ErgoLux Support Mattress as a 9 out of 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).
Firmness rating
This firmness level should suit back sleepers, although individual preferences will naturally vary.
Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the ErgoLux Support Mattress on the Sleep Republic Deluxe Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with rigid slats.
The 7-zone pocket spring system provides a serviceable level of support that should be adequate for most average-weight sleepers.

However, despite the mattress’s very firm feel, we would be cautious recommending it to heavier individuals (around 100kg or more), who may benefit from a more robust innerspring mattress with stronger deep support.
The spring system is noticeably bouncy and responsive, with a slightly unstable feel during normal sleep movements. This is not unusual for cheaper pocket spring systems, which can lack the refinement and stability of more expensive mattresses.
Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
The overall build quality of the ErgoLux Support Mattress is surprisingly good considering its very affordable price point. The materials, stitching, and finishings are generally respectable, and the mattress presents reasonably well for a budget product.
One thing worth noting is that the exterior design gives the impression of a thick comfort layer. However, this is largely cosmetic, with the actual comfort layer being relatively thin. This is worth keeping in mind, particularly for heavier individuals who may feel the underlying spring system.
Edge support is surprisingly good for a mattress in this price category. The perimeter maintains its shape reasonably well, providing a stable surface when sitting or lying near the edge.

The underlying springs can be felt through the side panels, indicating that the mattress doesn’t have a substantial foam box surrounding the spring system. However, this is not unexpected at such a low price point.
The mattress also includes generously sized side handles, which are a welcome feature. While they don’t feel quite as securely attached as those on more expensive mattresses, they should still be useful when rotating or manoeuvring the mattress.
In terms of partner disturbance, there is some movement transfer across the sleeping surface due to the relatively bouncy spring system. However, we wouldn’t describe this as excessive, and most couples should find it acceptable for everyday use.
The overall build quality of the ErgoLux Support Mattress is surprisingly good considering its very affordable price point.
According to the product information, the foam used in the ErgoLux Support Mattress is CertiPUR-US® certified. This certification includes restrictions on certain harmful substances and limits on volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
Temperature regulation was also satisfactory during our testing, with no abnormal heat retention detected. Of course, sleep temperature is influenced by many factors, including bedding choices, room conditions, and individual sleeping preferences.

Bed base compatibility
What type of bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the ErgoLux Support Mattress to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.
A bed base with solid slats such as the Sleep Republic Deluxe Bed Base would also be very suitable.
We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation may void the mattress warranty.
We don’t recommend the ErgoLux Support Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may cause damage to the mattress components. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Trial period and warranty
What happens if I don’t like it?
The ErgoLux Support Mattress does not come with a sleep trial period, so customers cannot simply return the mattress after testing it at home.
As this mattress is sold through Kogan, change-of-mind returns are generally only accepted if the mattress remains unopened and sealed in its original packaging due to hygiene reasons. Customers should therefore carefully consider their firmness preferences and suitability before opening the product.
The ErgoLux Support Mattress comes with a 10-year warranty, which covers manufacturing faults and defects under normal residential use. This provides a reassuring level of coverage for a mattress in this price category.
As with most mattress warranties, general wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or issues caused by an unsuitable bed base are unlikely to be covered. Customers should review Kogan’s full warranty and returns policies before purchasing.

Final verdict
Should I buy the ErgoLux Support Mattress?
The ErgoLux Support Mattress is a serviceable budget mattress that offers a very firm sleeping surface at an exceptionally affordable price.
While it doesn’t quite match the overall comfort and refinement of some other ErgoLux mattresses we’ve tested, particularly the ErgoLux Luxe Mattress (Medium), it still performs reasonably well considering its low price point.
The build quality is relatively basic, and the spring system lacks some of the stability and refinement of more expensive mattresses. Nevertheless, overall support is reasonable for most sleepers, edge support is surprisingly good, and the mattress offers acceptable comfort for those who prefer a very firm feel.
Overall, the ErgoLux Support Mattress represents excellent value for money and is a good option for budget-conscious shoppers looking for an extra-firm mattress.
