Purchase and delivery

The Dusk&Dawn Premiere can be conveniently ordered online through the Dusk&Dawn website.

Delivery is free to metro areas, and Dusk&Dawn can deliver to most areas in Australia. Delivery is not available to the Northern Territory, Tasmania, and some regional areas.

As part of the delivery process, Dusk&Dawn offers a ‘white glove’ service. This involves a dedicated 2 person team that will carefully handle your mattress and place it directly into your bedroom.

Dusk&Dawn also offers an old mattress removal service, for a fee of $100 (metro locations only).

Our Dusk&Dawn Premiere arrived in immaculate condition, thanks to two thick layers of plastic wrapping. Unlike many mattresses that are purchased online, the Dusk&Dawn Premiere doesn’t come compressed in a box, so you won’t need to wait for it to decompress before sleeping on it.

Aesthetically, the Dusk&Dawn Premiere Mattress oozes plenty of style and class. It sits 34cm high and uses a black and white colour theme with a trendy pattern on its top surface.

It also has a distinct brand label with shades of blue and turquoise.

Mattress construction

The Dusk&Dawn Premiere contains a number of layers and components. These parts include a robust spring system and enhanced edge support.

1. Comfort-Stretch Premium Fabric

The top cover of this mattress features a premium knit, high quality comfort-stretch fabric. This helps to give a soft and luxurious feel.

Combined with a 3D mesh gusset, this cover is designed to give maximum airflow and breathability.

2. Premium Dusk Air Technology

Sitting under the top fabric cover is a Dusk-Air Tech layer. This advanced formulation provides a highly breathable and ultra durable comfort layer that is designed to eliminate body impressions.

Dusk-Air Tech’s increased airflow properties offer superior moisture dissipation management with amazing thermo-regulation properties, designed to keep you warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

3. Eco-Air Comfort Technology

This foam layer is highly breathable and should help to regulate your body temperature for the ultimate sleep experience.

4. Elasta-Gel

Also included in the top comfort section of this mattress is a flexible and cool gel infused technology foam. This provides smooth pressure relief and comfort for your body. The gel cooling properties also help to keep the mattress at an optimal sleep temperature.

5. Premium Comfort Foam

This A-Grade comfort foam offers the perfect transitional comfort between the above and below layers. This allows for responsive and perfect body-hugging comfort whilst maintaining good temperature regulation.

7. ISO Coil 5 Zone Pocket Spring System

The main support structure of the Dusk&Dawn Premiere contains an independently encased Pocket Coil System. This contains 5 targeted zones for better body support and contouring where you need it most.

The independent pocket springs also help to minimise partner disturbance.

8. Power Edge Support

For enhanced edge support, the Dusk&Dawn Premiere has a Power Edge foam box. This encases the entire mattress support system to help create maximum surface support from edge to edge.

9. Premium Dusk&Dawn Outer Fabric Shell

The fabric on the side panels is made of a premium Dusk&Dawn fabric combination. This gives a luxurious and modern look, and has hard wearing properties.

Comfort and support

As mentioned earlier, the Dusk&Dawn Premiere comes in 3 firmness options – firm, medium, or plush (soft).

The Comfort-Stretch Premium Fabric (that comes with all firmness options) feels soft, smooth, and should allow plenty of ventilation.

As you would expect, the firm version feels firm and supportive, but there is still a nice level of comfort and pressure relief. It certainly isn’t rock hard.

This mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but understandably, its suitability will vary between individuals.

All of our expert reviewers agreed that this firm version has a ‘medium-firm’ feel. By majority vote, we settled on a 7.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).

Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.

We tested the Dusk&Dawn Premiere on the Koala Paddington Bed Base which is a good quality bed base with flat panel slats.

The comfort layers in the medium version offer lovely pressure relief and is noticeably comfortable in all sleeping positions.

The medium version should suit most side sleepers but it should also suit back sleepers and stomach sleepers. Again, this suitability will vary between individuals.

Medium version

Again, our firmness ratings are just a guide.

As you would expect, the plush version is noticeably soft with plenty of pressure relief. It would be very suitable for those who like an unmistakable soft feel to their mattress.

This plush version would be most suited to side sleepers but it may also suit back sleepers and stomach sleepers. Again, this suitability will vary between individuals.

All of our expert reviewers agreed that this plush version has a ‘plush’ feel. By majority vote, we settled on a 4 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).

Plush version

The ‘ISO Coil’ 5 Zone Pocket Spring System feels strong, stable, and well balanced. It provides excellent spinal support (in all sleeping positions), and should accommodate people of all sizes.

We didn’t detect any undesirable sagging or sinking on this mattress. The spring system also helps to isolate motion transfer, so partner disturbance is minimal.

The spring system in the Dusk&Dawn Premiere responds well to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as optimal. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.

The finer details

The overall build quality of the Dusk&Dawn Premiere Mattress is excellent.

Its outer fabric shell feels durable and the ‘3D Mesh Breathable Gusset’ around the sides of the comfort layer (for extra ventilation) demonstrate Dusk&Dawn’s attention to detail.

Edge support is firm thanks to its ‘Power Edge Support’ foam encasement. As with most mattress collections, edge support is best on the firm version.

All models in the Dusk&Dawn mattress range also have side handles, making it easy to rotate or transport the mattress. The handles themselves are strong, and are stitched into the mattress firmly.

At 34cm high, this mattress sits higher than some other mattresses. Standard sheets may fit, but you may need to use deep fitting sheets such as the Koala Deep Fit Sheets.

As we touched on earlier, partner disturbance is present but certainly not significant. So, a restless partner shouldn’t cause too many problems.

With that said, motion transfer may vary. A larger mattress (e.g. king size) will usually involve lower amounts of motion transfer. Partner disturbance will also depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.

The overall build quality of the Dusk&Dawn Premiere Mattress is excellent.

In terms of health and hygiene, the Dusk&Dawn Premiere Mattress is well certified. The comfort foams are certified by Global Green Tag, one of the world’s most trusted and widely recognised eco labels.

Other product components are also certified by CertiPUR-US® and OEKO-TEX® and the mattress uses Virase®, a new technology that provides an antiviral effect.

What bed base should I use?

As with most mattresses, we recommend the Dusk&Dawn Premiere to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats or solid slats such as the Dusk&Dawn Liquorice Bedhead & Base.

We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation may void the mattress warranty.

It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.

For this reason, all Dusk&Dawn mattresses come with a 100 night comfort guarantee. During this time you can test your new mattress out in the comfort of your own home. You must own the mattress for a minimum of 30 nights from the date received, this will give your body the adequate time to adjust.

If between, night 31-100 you still are not satisfied with your sleep, then let us know and we will arrange to collect your mattress and adjust the firmness before returning it right back to you FREE of charge.

Yes we do offer a refund. But first:

1. You must go through 1 Comfort change first as per our Comfort Guarantee policy.
