We believe the Avatar mattress is a very strong contender in the mattress in a box market. It is comfortable and supportive with a low amount of partner disturbance. The build quality is slightly deficient in comparison to some other mattress in a box products but this is made up for by the outstanding value for money that the Avatar mattress presents to consumers.

The top layers of latex and memory foam are very comfortable on the Avatar mattress. The top sleeping surface offers nice pressure relief on the shoulders and hips and moulds to the body very nicely.

We felt the Avatar Mattress supported the spine and body well. The density of the latex and memory didn’t involve any significant sinking feeling, rather a more fairly dense, soft feel which supported the spine and body very well.

In terms of build quality, we felt that the Avatar Mattress was a little lacking in this area but still reasonable. The linen cover didn’t quite sit in the right place initially, and had a few ‘folds’ in it. Nevertheless, once it was correctly positioned, it seemed to sit firmly. The edges were fairly firm, and it felt reasonable stable.

The amount of partner disturbance we noted on the Avatar Mattress was minimal. Partner movement was detected but at a very low level and not enough to be significant.
