Purchase and delivery

How do I buy the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium)?

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) can be purchased online through Kogan, with delivery available to most locations across Australia.

The ordering process is straightforward, with customers simply selecting their preferred size and completing the online checkout. Delivery costs and timeframes will vary depending on your location.

The mattress arrives compressed and rolled in a cardboard box, making it relatively easy to transport and manoeuvre into your bedroom.

Once removed from the box, the mattress can be placed onto a suitable bed base before carefully removing the plastic wrapping. It will then begin expanding to its normal shape and size.

The packaging includes an information booklet and a small cutting tool to assist with removing the plastic wrapping.

As with most mattresses in a box, we recommend allowing sufficient time for the mattress to fully expand before sleeping on it.

Aesthetics and presentation

What does the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) look like?

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) has a modern and attractive appearance, with a white quilted sleeping surface and contrasting navy blue side panels.

The Euro top features a textured, wave-like pattern, while black piping around the edges provides a neat finish. The navy blue side panels include small circular indentations and an embroidered Ergolux logo.

At approximately 34cm high, the mattress has a relatively tall profile and presents quite well considering its affordable price point.

Mattress construction

What’s inside the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium)?

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) combines several foam comfort layers with a 7-zone pocket spring system. Its construction is designed to provide cushioning, targeted support, and temperature regulation.

1. Breathable Knitted Cover

The mattress features a soft, breathable knitted fabric cover, designed to promote airflow and provide a comfortable sleeping surface. The quilted Euro top also adds some initial cushioning.

Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium)

2. Cooling Memory Foam

Beneath the knitted cover sits a layer of cooling gel memory foam, designed to provide pressure relief while helping to regulate sleep temperature.

3. Support Foam Layers

The mattress also includes a layer of convoluted support foam, along with high-density foam and non-woven fabric. These materials are designed to provide additional cushioning, distribute body weight, and create a transition between the comfort layers and pocket spring system.

A protective fabric layer also separates the foam components from the underlying springs.

4. 7-Zone Pocket Spring System

The main support structure consists of individually wrapped pocket springs arranged into seven targeted support zones. This system is designed to distribute body weight across different areas of the body while helping to minimise partner disturbance.

5. Reinforced Edge Support

The mattress also features reinforced edge support, designed to improve stability around the perimeter and maximise the usable sleeping surface.

Comfort and support

What’s it like to sleep on the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium)?

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) offers a relatively basic level of comfort, which reflects its affordable price point.

The knitted fabric cover feels reasonably comfortable, while the underlying foam layers provide some initial cushioning. However, the comfort layers don’t feel particularly well integrated with the spring system, resulting in a somewhat unrefined sleeping surface.

There is also a noticeable amount of sinkage, particularly for heavier individuals, who may compress the comfort layers and feel the underlying springs. This may compromise both comfort and pressure relief.

Our team rated the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) as a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).

Firmness rating

This medium-firm feel may suit a range of sleeping positions, although suitability will depend on individual body type and comfort preferences.

Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.

Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.

The 7-zone pocket spring system provides a basic level of support, although it lacks the stability and refinement of better-quality innerspring mattresses. We would be cautious recommending this mattress to heavier individuals, who may benefit from a more robust spring system with stronger deep support.

ErgoLux Elite Bamboo Mattress

The spring system is noticeably bouncy and somewhat unstable, particularly when changing sleeping positions. This excessive bounce makes the mattress feel less controlled and refined than some other Ergolux mattresses we’ve tested.

While the mattress is certainly responsive, the spring system doesn’t feel particularly well balanced with the comfort layers, which detracts from the overall sleeping experience.

Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.

The finer details

What else should I know?

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) has a fairly basic level of build quality, which is understandable considering its budget price point. The fabrics and finishings are reasonable, although the overall construction lacks the refinement of more expensive mattresses.

The exterior design gives the impression of a thick comfort layer, but the actual comfort layers are relatively thin. The springs can also be felt through the sides of the mattress, despite the surrounding fabric and padding.

Edge support is below average, with noticeable compression when sitting on the side of the mattress. This may be particularly problematic for heavier individuals, who are likely to experience greater sinkage.

The mattress includes two large, vertically positioned side handles, which are generously sized and easy to grip. Their attachment points don’t feel particularly robust, but they should be serviceable for occasional mattress handling.

Edge support is below average, with noticeable compression when sitting on the side of the mattress.

Partner disturbance is another consideration. The relatively bouncy spring system allows some movement to transfer across the mattress, which may be noticeable when sharing the bed with a partner.

In terms of temperature regulation, the mattress incorporates cooling memory foam and a breathable knitted cover. However, sleep temperature is influenced by many factors, and the effectiveness of these cooling features will vary between individuals.

Bed base compatibility

What type of bed base should I use?

As with most mattresses, we recommend the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) to be used on a bed base with flat panel slats such as the Koala Paddington Bed Base.

A bed base with solid slats such as the Sleep Republic Deluxe Bed Base would also be very suitable.

Koala Paddington Bed Base

We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation may void the mattress warranty.

We don’t recommend the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this may cause damage to the mattress components. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.

It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.

Trial period and warranty

What happens if I don’t like it?

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) does not come with a dedicated sleep trial period.

Kogan offers a 14-day change-of-mind return policy on many of its exclusive brand products. However, exclusions and conditions apply, so customers should check their eligibility before purchasing.

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) comes with a 10-year warranty, providing some peace of mind against manufacturing defects.

As always, we recommend reviewing the full warranty and returns conditions before making a purchase.

What size options are available?

This mattress is available in 5 sizes (king, queen, double, king single, and single) so it should accommodate most sleeping arrangements.

The graphic below includes all of Australia’s standard bed (mattress) sizes in 2026. Again please note that the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) is available in 5 of these sizes.

Final verdict

Should I buy the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium)?

The Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) is a budget-priced mattress that offers a serviceable level of comfort and support, although its overall quality reflects its low price point.

The spring system feels somewhat bouncy and unstable, while the comfort layers lack the refinement of more expensive mattresses. We would also be cautious recommending this mattress to heavier individuals, particularly given its limited edge support.

Overall, the Ergolux Luxe Cooling Mattress (Medium) is a reasonable option for those on a tight budget, but we feel that other mattresses in the Ergolux range, particularly the Ergolux Luxe Mattress (Medium) and Ergolux Elite Bamboo Mattress, offer a better overall sleeping experience.
