The Wowbed Dreamer Mattress forms the entry level model in the Wowbeds mattress range. It has a basic construction but still offers good value in the online mattress category.
Purchase and delivery
The Wowbed Dreamer Mattress can be conveniently ordered online through the Wowbeds website. Delivery is free and the mattress can be delivered Australia wide.
The mattress was easy to remove from its packaging, but you may need two people to assist with the unboxing. We allowed 24 hours for the mattress to fully decompress, but it seemed to expand quickly, and should be ready to sleep on within a few hours.
Aesthetically, the Wowbed Dreamer Mattress combines a classic style with modern tones. The mattress uses a grey, green, and white colour theme, and its brand name embroidery gives it a nice touch.
Comfort and support
The Wowbed Dreamer Mattress has fairly basic comfort layer which is not surprising at this price point. It includes a top cover of bamboo fabric and multiple layers of comfort foams.
This top comfort layer does have some pressure relief, but there is a ‘hardness’ to it. You can feel the springs move under your body, so comfort is compromised here somewhat. Our team rated it as a ‘medium / firm’ feel and a 7.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Sitting below this comfort layer, is a pocket spring system that does feel rather unrefined, but about what you expect for the price. Back support is average but it does feel nice and responsive. Partner disturbance isn’t too bad, but this will become more noticeable with larger occupants.
The finer details
Overall build quality of the Wowbed Dreamer Mattress is basic. You can feel the springs through the sides of the mattress and it will struggle with heavier people. Edge support is fair, and the ‘Ventex Mesh’ on the sides of the mattress should help to enhance ventilation and airflow.
The Wowbed Dreamer Mattress offers an impressive 120 night trial period and a 10 year warranty. This is noteworthy, considering its budget level pricing. We didn’t notice any strong odours while unboxing this mattress.
