Noa Mattress Review
The Noa Mattress is an excellent ‘mattress in a box’ option for those who value a firmer, more supportive feel to their mattress. As such, it’s no surprise that the Noa Mattress was recently awarded Australia’s Best ‘Back Support’ Mattress in a Box for 2019. It is one of only several mattress in a box products in Australia that has an inner spring system, making it a good value option for those who like the feel of a traditional, spring based mattress.
The top layer has a firm, dense feel to it, but it is certainly not ‘hard’ or uncomfortable. The top Tencel fabric cover sits over a layer of latex, memory foam, transition foam, and then the robust pocket spring system. It provides excellent spinal support and has a nice amount of ‘bounce’ to it. It absorbs body weight quite well, but certainly up the firmer end of the scale.
Partner disturbance won’t be a big issue and overall build quality is very good. There is foam placed on all sides of the mattress so you can’t feel the springs through the side, a good example of attention to detail by Noa. Other spring based mattresses in a box have springs that you can feel through the side which we do view as a deficiency in build quality. Edge support is not exceptional, but certainly within the normal range for a mattress in a box.
At the time of this review, Noa was offering $300 off any size mattress, bringing the price of a queen size down to $799, well below the market average of $995. The Noa Mattress is certainly a strong contender in the Australian mattress in a box market. If you have any questions about this mattress or any other, please contact us!

Please note: We don’t generally recommend mattress in a box products to go on an ‘adjustable base’ (a base that can be angled via a remote control). If a mattress in a box product is placed on an adjustable base, it is recommended that a person/s be lying on the mattress (and base) whilst making positional adjustments. We generally recommend a mattress in a box product to go on a solid ensemble base, or a slat base. If you have any queries about bed bases, please contact us.
