The Beautyrest Black Centenary looks and feels expensive and the price tag wasn’t surprising. There’s a slight sinking feeling with a puffy type feel to it also but very comfortable and spinal support is quite good.
Beautyrest Black Providence (Discontinued)
The Beautyrest Black Providence feels quite hard but support is quite good. Should be comfortable enough for most but make sure you take your time to assess how your hips and shoulders sink into the top layer. Partner disturbance appears minimal.
Beautyrest Black Delaware Super Firm (Discontinued)
The Beautyrest Black Delaware Super Firm is hard and not particularly comfortable. Support is OK and partner disturbance seems minimal but we would recommend trying the firm version as we rated this highly. The build quality appears exceptional but as a result the price tag is hefty.
The Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel Bordeaux (Discontinued)
The Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel Bordeaux has a rather cheap feeling to the top layer. The top surface feels quite separate to the rest of the mattress. Nevertheless it is quite comfortable but having said that spinal support is a bit disappointing – it doesn’t hug the body that well.
Sealy Posturepedic Piccadilly Plush (Discontinued)
The Sealy Posturepedic Piccadilly Plush has a sinking feeling and spinal support is questionable. It is comfortable and partner disturbance seems minimal but overall for the price it is a hard sell for us.
Sealy Posturepedic Piccadilly Ultra Plush (Discontinued)
The Sealy Posturepedic Piccadilly Ultra Plush has an immediate sinking feeling which feels light and soft but spinal support is subsequently compromised – support of the body and spine is quite poor. Partner disturbance seems minimal but look at that price tag.
Sealy Posturepedic Trafalgar Super Firm (Discontinued)
The Sealy Posturepedic Trafalga Super Firm feels very hard and not comfortable at all. One of the hardest mattresses we have tested so give it a go if you’re interested to feel one right up the end of the firm scale. Most people would find this bed too firm.
Beautyrest Black Newport Plush (Discontinued)
The Beautyrest Black Newport Plush has a nice soft feel to it and as such is very comfortable. Also hugs the body quite well. The spinal support is OK but just not ‘quite there’. Partner disturbance is minimal.
Sealy Posturepedic Trafalgar Firm (Discontinued)
The Sealy Posturepedic Trafalgar Firm is a little bouncy with a bit of partner disturbance but otherwise is a comfortable and supportive mattress. The only major problem is that heft price tag. If you have the cash and you really like the feel of this mattress, we won’t talk you out of it.
Tempur Serene Sensation Medium (Discontinued)
The Tempur Serene Sensation Medium has a dense and heavy feel to it like a lot of the Tempur mattresses and the spinal support is good. Because of the density of the foam, there isn’t a lot of ‘body sinking’ which may be an issue for some people.
Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite Elegance (Discontinued)
The Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite Elegance feels soft and comfortable and hugs the body fairly well. There is some partner disturbance to contend with though. Certainly a well made product but for the high price, we would keep looking.
My Side Series 10 Ultra Plush (discontinued)
The My Side series allows you to choose a different option on each side of the bed. You can choose between firm, medium, plush, and ultra plush. We are reviewing the My Side Series 10 Ultra Plush here. This version is really just a softer version of the plush model of this series.
