SleepTailor Luxe Review
The SleepTailor Luxe is a lovely mattress range that comes in a firm, medium, or plush version. It is Australian made and comes with a 10 year warranty.
Purchase and delivery
This mattress can be ordered online, and delivery is available Australia-wide (see full delivery information in our ‘Delivery’ section below). It can also be purchased through any of Snooze’s stores across Australia.
From a visual perspective, the SleepTailor Luxe has an immediate presence and gives off a classic, yet stylish look. It uses a white and brown colour theme and has brand name embroidery at its base.
Comfort and support
All versions use a comfort layer that is made from Dutch stretch knit fabric, along with premium foams, Hydroflex memory foam, and a mini pocket coil system. All versions are comfortable and absorb body weight smoothly.
We rated the SleepTailor Luxe Firm as a ‘medium-firm’ feel and a 6.5 / 10 on the firmness scale. This should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but understandably, its suitability will vary between individuals.
Firm version
Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
We rated the SleepTailor Luxe Medium as a ‘medium-plush’ feel and a 4.5 / 10 on the firmness scale. This should suit most side sleepers, but again, this may vary.
Medium version
We rated the SleepTailor Luxe Plush as a ‘plush’ feel and a 3.5 / 10 on the firmness scale. This should suit most side sleepers, but this may vary between individuals.
Plush version
The spring system used in the SleepTailor Luxe is a ‘TwinTech® pocketed coils’ support system. This feels incredibly strong and stable, and offers excellent spinal support. It should accommodate people of all sizes.
It’s worth noting that this mattress can be specially ordered with different firmness levels on each side (e.g. firm on one side, plush on the other).
The SleepTailor Luxe responds nicely to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness in the ‘optimal’ zone. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
As you would expect for the price, the SleepTailor Luxe is very well constructed with premium materials. It has strong side handles, and its quality and finishings are first class.
Edge support is sound and partner disturbance is minimal. This will vary of course depending on the size of the occupants of the bed.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the SleepTailor Luxe to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.

Furthermore, we do not recommend the SleepTailor Luxe to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.

The SleepTailor Luxe is available in all 6 sizes (king, queen, double, king single, long single, and single) so it should suit most sleeping arrangements. Here are Australia’s standard bed (mattress) sizes in 2021.

The SleepTailor Luxe is a quality mattress that comes with plenty of quality and comfort. It can be ordered with different firmness levels on each side, and has a 10 year warranty.

Do you deliver to my area?
We endeavour to deliver your SleepTailor Luxe to every address in Australia, however some addresses that are remote or difficult to access (some islands for instance) need to be quoted on a Price on Application basis.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
The majority of our products are made to order, so delivery times vary from product to product. For example most mattresses take between 7-14 days, while some custom-made furniture can take up to 8 weeks. Estimated lead-times are displayed on product pages.
How much does delivery cost?
If one or more items in your order are bulky (such as beds, mattresses, bedside tables and other bedroom furniture), then your whole order will be delivered by truck. The cost of delivery is then determined by the distance between delivery location and store of purchase:
Local Delivery distance of less than 25km – $80
Delivery distance between 25km and less than 60km – $100
Delivery distance between 60km and less than 100km – $125
Delivery distance greater than 100km – The store will contact you for special pricing.
