Online purchase
The Silent Partner Allegro Mattress can be purchased online through the Forty Winks website. When ordering online, customers can select their preferred comfort level – Firm, Medium, or Plush – as well as their desired mattress size before completing the checkout process.
Delivery costs will generally depend on how far the delivery address is from the supplying store. As a general guide, delivery fees may start from around $90 for locations close to the store and can increase to approximately $180 for addresses located up to around 100km away. Delivery timeframes can vary depending on stock availability and which Forty Winks store is fulfilling the order.
In-store purchase
The Silent Partner Allegro Mattress is also available to purchase in-store at Forty Winks locations across Australia, allowing customers to try the different comfort levels before making a decision.
Purchasing in-store can be particularly useful when comparing the firmness options, as staff can assist with selecting the most suitable feel. Delivery arrangements and associated costs are organised through the individual Forty Winks store, so exact delivery fees and timeframes may vary depending on your location.
Aesthetics and Presentation
What does it look like in real life?
The Silent Partner Allegro Mattress has a clean and fairly understated design that should suit most bedroom styles. The colour palette is light and neutral, featuring soft cream tones across the quilted sleeping surface along with light grey patterned side panels.
The mattress has a pillow top finish that gives it a slightly more premium and comfortable appearance. Branding is fairly subtle, with the Silent Partner logo and Allegro model name embroidered on the side panels. Overall presentation is neat and well executed, with tidy stitching and a substantial 40cm profile that gives the mattress a solid presence on a bed base.
Mattress construction
What’s inside the Silent Partner Allegro Mattress?
The following construction details relate specifically to the Medium version of the Silent Partner Allegro Mattress. The Firm and Plush versions may have slightly different internal configurations to achieve their respective comfort levels.
The Silent Partner Allegro Mattress is available in three comfort options – Firm, Medium and Plush – allowing sleepers to select the feel that best suits their comfort preferences.
The Firm version has a dense and slightly spongy comfort layer that still feels quite comfortable overall. It delivers a solid and supportive feel while maintaining a modest level of cushioning at the surface.
Our testing team rated the Firm at 7.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).
Firm version

The Medium version offers a noticeable increase in pressure relief and softness compared with the Firm. The comfort layers feel quite comfortable without excessive sinking or dipping, creating a balanced feel that should suit a wide range of sleepers.
Our team rated the Medium at 5.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale.
Medium version

The Plush (soft) version provides a softer and more cushioned feel, offering plenty of plushness and pressure relief. Despite the softer surface, the mattress still absorbs body weight well and does not feel unstable.
Our team rated the Plush at 4.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale.
Plush version

Please note that our firmness ratings are intended as a guide only and do not necessarily relate directly to comfort. Mattresses with the same firmness rating can feel quite different depending on materials and construction.
Overall, the Allegro range offers a comfortable and fairly relatable feel that should appeal to a wide range of sleepers. The firmness levels also align closely with typical expectations, with each option feeling broadly consistent with how most sleepers would interpret firm, medium and plush.
Support from the spring system feels solid and dependable, helping to maintain good spinal alignment. The mattress is also reasonably responsive, allowing sleepers to change positions without much effort. While it may not feel quite as responsive as some other innerspring mattresses we have tested, our team still rated its responsiveness within the optimal range.
Responsiveness

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
What else should I know?
The Silent Partner Allegro Mattress appears to be well made overall, with good finishing and tidy upholstery throughout. While the level of craftsmanship may not be quite on the same level as some ultra-premium mattresses such as the Crown Posture Bedding Reserve Lewis, it is still a well-constructed product that should satisfy most buyers.
With a profile of around 40cm, the Allegro sits within the higher profile category of mattresses. As such, you may need deep-fitting sheets to ensure a proper fit.
Edge support is solid across all three comfort options.
The Forty Winks website does not list an official mattress weight, but we would estimate a queen size to weigh around 50kg, which is fairly typical for a good quality innerspring mattress of this size and construction. The mattress is fitted with two vertically positioned side handles on each side, which should assist with rotation and general handling.
Edge support is solid across all three comfort options. As expected, the Firm version provides the strongest edge stability, though the Medium and Plush versions also perform well and allow sleepers to comfortably utilise most of the mattress surface.
Partner disturbance is also well controlled. During testing we did not observe any significant motion transfer, meaning movement on one side of the mattress is unlikely to greatly affect the other sleeper. As with most mattresses, larger sizes such as king or super king will typically offer even better motion isolation.

Bed base compatibility
What type of bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend this mattress to be used with a bed base with solid slats (not flexible/posture slats), such as the Atlantis Bed Base.
We would advise against using a bed base with flexible (posture) slats as this type of base may not provide adequate support. Ultimately, the use of an unsupportive mattress foundation may void the mattress warranty.
We don’t recommend that this mattress be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Warranty
What happens if I notice a fault?
The Silent Partner Allegro Mattress is supported by a 10 year manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship when the mattress is used under normal residential conditions.
As with most mattress warranties, the mattress should be used on a suitable and supportive bed base and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s care guidelines to ensure the warranty remains valid. Rotating the mattress periodically may also help promote even wear and prolong its lifespan.
Available sizes
What size options are available?
The Silent Partner Allegro Mattress is available in 6 sizes (super king, king, queen, double, king single, and single) so it should suit most sleeping arrangements.
