Serta Torrey Medium Review
The Serta Torrey Medium forms the medium feel version in the Serta Torrey range. It is a reasonably priced innerspring mattress.

Visually, the Serta Torrey Medium has a rather dated design. It sits 26 cm high and uses a white, brown, and cream coloured tones.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress includes a soft fabric cover and various layers of comfort foams. This top section feels offers a nice amount of pressure relief, but it does feel a little cheap and unsophisticated.
This mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but, this suitability will vary between individuals.
We rated the Serta Torrey Medium as a ‘medium-firm’ feel and a 7 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. The support structure used in the Serta Torrey Medium is a pocket spring system that feels relatively stable and balanced. It should offer good support for most but it doesn’t isolate motion particularly well. Therefore, partner disturbance may be an issue, but this will vary depending on the size of the occupants of the bed.
The Serta Torrey Medium responds fairly well to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness in the optimal zone. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, the Serta Torrey Medium is decent in context of price. Edge support is not exceptional, but most people should be able to use the full surface of the mattress.
The lack of side handles is disappointing, and this will make it more difficult to carry and rotate the mattress.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress has a 10 year warranty.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Serta Torrey Medium to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.

Final verdict
The Serta Torrey Medium is a nice all rounder that offers good value. It is well balanced with comfort and support, but it does lack the refinement of others in this price category.
