The Serta Avant Garde Sistine forms the firm feel version in the Serta Avant Garde range. It uses a number of sophisticated materials in its construction and is available exclusively at Forty Winks.

Aesthetically, the Serta Avant Garde Sistine presents with plenty of style. It gives off a distinct luxurious vibe and uses white and cream tones in its external design.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress includes silk, a heat regulating layer called KulKote, and temperature regulating material called Opti-therm. Additionally, this comfort layer contains a layer of mini pocket springs.
This comfort layer offers some pressure relief but it has a distinct firm feel to it. It should suit most back sleepers, but it may also suit some side sleepers and stomach sleepers.

The support structure used in the Serta Avant Garde Sistine is an Avant Garde dual core support system. This feels stable, sturdy, and offers good spinal support. It should also accommodate people of all sizes.
In terms of responsiveness, the Serta Avant Garde Sistine doesn’t respond to normal sleep movements particularly well. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) may be easier on some other mattresses.

The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, the Serta Avant Garde Sistine is excellent. The quality of its finishings are exceptional, and side handles should make it easy to transport and rotate the mattress.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress has a 90 day comfort guarantee. This means that you can swap the mattress (for a more suitable model) if you are not satisfied with your purchase.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Serta Avant Garde Sistine to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.
