The Serta Avant Garde Rococco uses a number of sophisticated materials in its construction and is one of the more expensive mattresses that we have tested.

Aesthetically, the Serta Avant Garde Rococco presents with plenty of style. It gives off a distinct luxurious vibe and uses white and cream tones in its external design.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress includes silk, a heat regulating layer called KulKote, and a layer of natural latex. Additionally, this comfort layer contains a layer of mini pocket springs.
This comfort layer offers nice pressure relief and should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers).
We rated the Serta Avant Garde Rococco as a ‘medium’ feel and an 6 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. The support structure used in the Serta Avant Garde Rococco is an Avant Garde dual core support system. This feels stable, sturdy, and offers good spinal support. It should also accommodate people of all sizes.
In terms of responsiveness, the Serta Avant Garde Rococco responds well to normal sleep movements. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, the Serta Avant Garde Rococco is excellent. The quality of its finishings are exceptional, and side handles should make it easy to transport and rotate the mattress.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress has a 90 day comfort guarantee. This means that you can swap the mattress (for a more suitable model) if you are not satisfied with your purchase.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Serta Avant Garde Rococco to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.

Furthermore, we do not recommend the Serta Avant Garde Rococco to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
