Visually, the Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh presents with a very typical Sealy design. It sits 34 cm high and uses a white, black, and grey colour theme.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress includes a Sence-Ice fabric that feels remarkably cool to touch. This fabric is designed to prevent overheating during sleep and feels quite unique. This fabric sits over various comfort foams that offer nice pressure relief.
This mattress should suit all sleeping positions (back sleepers, side sleepers, and stomach sleepers), but this suitability will vary between individuals.
We rated the Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh as an ‘medium’ feel and an 6 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
The support structure used in the Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh feels quite stable, and quite unlike many other Sealy Posturepedic that we have tested. It should support the spine well and partner disturbance shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
In terms of responsiveness, we rated the Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh as optimal. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, the Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh is admirable. Edge support is good, and side handles should make it easy to transport and rotate the mattress.
It’s worth noting here that this mattress is Australian made and has a 10 year warranty.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.
Sleep Republic Pro Base
Furthermore, we do not recommend the Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Available sizes
The Sealy Posturepedic Climate Cool Edinburgh is available in 7 sizes (super king, king, queen, double, king single, long single and single ) so it should suit all sleeping arrangements.
