The Sealy Perfect Balance Haven Firm is a very basic mattress that feels cheap and flimsy. Despite its seductive low price, it shows its price in all aspects.

Visually, the Sealy Perfect Balance Haven Firm has a simple, artless look. It uses a grey and white colour combination (as with many other Sealy mattresses), along with a brand label.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress consists of a ‘Comfort Tight Top with Conforming Quilt Layers’ that has a ‘Healthshield Treatment’ that is aimed at maintaining a clean sleeping surface. This comfort layer feels unrefined and pressure relief would be described as modest.
As you would expect, we rated the Sealy Perfect Balance Haven Firm as a ‘firm’ feel and a 8 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
The spring system used in the Sealy Perfect Balance Haven Firm is a ‘Posturetech11 Alternating Support System‘. Despite this fancy name, this system feels noticeably flimsy and unstable. Spinal support is far from impressive and it will have trouble accommodate larger people. Motion transfer (partner disturbance) will also be a problem.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, this mattress falls short across the board. Despite its claims of ‘Firm Seating Edge and Extended Sleep Surface with Edgeguard’ edge support is poor.
As we alluded to earlier, partner disturbance will definitely be an issue, but this will understandably depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.
