Visually, the Sealy Perfect Balance Haven Cushion Firm has a simple, unsophisticated appearance. It uses a grey and white colour combination (as with many other Sealy mattresses), along with a brand label.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress consists of a ‘Comfort Tight Top with Conforming Quilt Layers’ that has a ‘Healthshield Treatment’ that is aimed at maintaining a clean sleeping surface. This comfort layer feels unrefined and pressure relief would be described as adequate at best.

The spring system used in the Sealy Perfect Balance Haven Cushion Firm is a ‘Posturetech11 Alternating Support System‘. Despite this fancy name, this system feels noticeably flimsy and unreliable. Spinal support is questionable and it will likely have trouble accommodate larger people. Motion transfer (partner disturbance) will also be a problem.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, this mattress falls short in all areas. Despite its claims of ‘Firm Seating Edge and Extended Sleep Surface with Edgeguard’, edge support is poor.
As we alluded to earlier, partner disturbance will definitely be an issue, but this will understandably depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.
