Quokka Beds Latex Pillow Review
The Quokka Beds Latex Pillow forms part of the Quokka Beds bedding range that also includes a lovely Latex Mattress and a Cot Mattress.
This pillow is available in two options (shapes) that include a standard shape and a contour shape. Deciding on which product to choose will come down to personal preference and/or personal needs.
Pillow construction
As the name suggests, the Quokka Beds Latex Pillow is made of certified, organic latex. Organic latex is sourced from rubber trees that is part of a strict process of maintaining and sourcing the tree sap.
The latex in this pillow has an ‘open-cell structure’ designed to enhance ventilation and ideally to prevent overheating.
The outer cover is made of certified organic cotton which also appears to be designed for ventilation.
The contour option comes with a height adjustable feature. The default setting includes an additional latex layer that can be removed to reduce the height of the pillow by 2.5cm.
It’s worth noting here that the components in this pillow are highly certified as non-toxic and eco-friendly. These certifications include GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard), eco-INSTITUT, and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).
Comfort and support
The outer cotton cover of this pillow feels soft, durable, and comfortable. It should also help to provide a good level of breathability.
This pillow itself is very comfortable with a noticeably soft, yet bouncy feel. Both shapes (standard and contour) absorb weight nicely, while still providing good support.
In addition to the height adjustable feature, the contour option has a dual height design. This means that the user can choose from two ‘contours’ based on personal preference. When accounting for the removable layer, it produces a maximum height of 14cm and a minimum height of 10cm.
Considering how many height options are available with the contour shaped option, this pillow would be ideal for those who have trouble finding the right pillow. It has a number of height and posture options that should satisfy most people.
Based on our testing, the contour shape option would be best for side sleepers and back sleepers, but it may also be suitable for some stomach sleepers.
The standard pillow option would be be best suited for back sleepers and stomach sleepers, but may also be suitable for side sleepers.
