The Orthokinetic Prestige Decadence presents well with a simple, classic look. It gives off a luxurious vibe, and the brand embroidery demonstrates a high level of sophistication.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress starts with a micro Tencel cover that feels soft and luxurious. This sits over over a layer of viscoelastic memory foam and gel infused latex. This comfort layer is divine – it offers smooth pressure relief and absorbs body weight beautifully.
Despite its ‘ultra-plush’ appellation, we rated the Orthokinetic Prestige Decadence more as a ‘medium-plush’ feel and a 3.5 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
The spring system used in the Orthokinetic Prestige Decadence is a ‘7-Zoned Foam Encased Patented Air Pocket Spring’ system. It has a fancy name but it does feel robust and will accomodate people of most sizes.
Despite the softer comfort layer, this spring system offers very good spinal support and should maintain a healthy spinal alignment in all sleeping positions. Keep in mind though, if you do prefer a more firm, supportive feel, this mattress won’t be for you.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, the Orthokinetic Prestige Decadence is outstanding. It has durable side handles to assist during transport, and thanks to its foam encased perimeter, edge support is sound. Partner disturbance is minimal, and its 20-year warranty is the perfect example in Orthokinetic’s confidence in its product.
