Newentor Weighted Blanket Review
The Newentor Weighted Blanket forms part of the Newentor bedding range that also includes the popular Newentor Hybrid Mattress.
Purchase and delivery
The Newentor Weighted Blanket can be purchased through the Newentor website. Delivery is free (Australia wide), and delivery times are generally quite fast. For more details regarding delivery, see our ‘Delivery’ section further down.
The blanket can be ordered in 3 different weights (9.1 kgs, 7.7kgs, and 6.8kgs). Our team tested the 7.7kg option which is recommended for people who weigh 70kgs – 90kgs. These recommendations can be found in our ‘Product information’ section further down in this review.
It’s worth noting here that all 3 weight options have the same dimensions (152cm x 203cm) which are practically the same dimensions as a standard queen size mattress.
The packaging box arrived in good condition. The blanket itself was enclosed within a handy storage bag that included a product manual.
Once you remove the packaging and storage bag, the blanket comes in two seperate parts – firstly the outer cover and secondly the main body of the blanket.
Setting up the blanket should only take about 5 minutes. We found it was best to turn the cover ‘inside out’ and then connect the body of the blanket using the hooks and ties. This can be done by one person, but will be easier with two people.
The Newentor Weighted Blanket has a modern appearance that uses a dark grey coloured that is very typical of other weighted blankets on the market.
Construction and materials
The Newentor Weighted Blanket has 7 layers that make up the product.
The outer cover is made of a Minky Dot Fabric and ultra-soft polyester (layers 1 and 2 on the picture below) on one side. This cover feels soft, smooth, and warm.
The other side of the cover is made of bamboo fabric and ultra-soft polyester (6 and 7). This feels cool, smooth and silky.
This cover sits over the main body of the blanket which includes a polyester layer (3), a non-glue polyester layer (4), and a section of non-toxic premium glass beads (5).
Comfort and practicality
This blanket has a dual sided design so it can be flipped over to suit your preference.
Presumably, the bamboo microfibre side placed onto your body should keep you cool. The soft fleece side (with minky dot fabric) should keep you warm.
As you would expect, the blanket has significant weight that covers your body nicely. There was a noticeable difference in the cool and warm layers, so it should help to regulate sleep temperature.
The 4 zone weight distribution also feels legitimate, and weight seems to be spread differently throughout the 4 sections of the blanket.
The finer details
The Newentor Weighted Blanket is certified as non-toxic by OEKO-TEX and CertiPUR-US. These are two of the most reputable testing groups in the world, so you can feel safe bringing this product into your home.
Removing the outer cover should be easy. Although the zip pull is small, the zip mechanism is easy to use.
This product comes with a 30 day return and refund option, so you can return the blanket for a refund if you are not satisfied with your purchase. It also comes with a 10 year warranty.
Available sizes
As we touched on earlier, the Newentor Weighted Blanket is available in 3 product weight options (9.1 kgs 7.7 kgs, and 6.8kgs). So, it should accommodate the needs of most adults.
All 3 weight options have the same dimensions (152cm x 203cm). Here are Australia’s standard bed (mattress) sizes in 2024.
Final verdict
The Newentor Weighted Blanket is a fine product that offers quality, practicality, and value. Its 30 day return and refund option also gives you plenty of after-sale security.
