Luxo Pro Mattress Review
The Luxo Pro Mattress contains a combination of different foams and can be customised to suit your individual firmness preference. It forms part of the Luxo Living mattress range that also includes the Luxo Luxe Mattress.
Purchase and delivery
As with other mattress in a box products, the Luxo Pro Mattress can be conveniently ordered online (through the Luxo Living website), and it will arrive at your door in a box. Delivery times can be viewed below in the ‘Delivery’ section of this review.
Removing the Luxo Pro Mattress from its packaging was straight forward, but we recommend having two people available to unpack this mattress from its box. It is still possible with one person, but it may just take a little longer.
Either way, unpacking the Luxo Pro Mattress should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing. You can get a closer look at the Luxo Pro Mattress in real life in their unboxing video below:
From the outside, the Luxo Pro Mattress has a simple, ‘boxy’ appearance. It uses a grey and white colour theme, along with black piping. The ‘Luxo’ brand embroidery gives it a nice touch of sophistication.
Mattress construction
The Luxo Pro Mattress starts with a bamboo fabric cover which feels soft and durable. This cover is removable and washable, so keeping this mattress clean should be easy.
This bamboo cover sits over a layer of gel memory foam (blue layer) and a Polyurethane (PU) foam (first yellow layer). The main support structure of this mattress is a thick piece of support foam (second yellow layer) which contains ‘gaps’ to facilitate movement and support.
How does the customisation work?
One aspect of the Luxo Pro Mattress that is unique is its ‘customisation’ feature. The foam layers can be interchanged to create a medium, medium-firm, and firm feel. This allows you to choose a firmness (and feel) that suits your individual preference.
Comfort and support
The medium version is the ‘default setting’ and involves the configuration of the gel memory foam on top, followed by the PU foam, and then the support foam. Our team rated it as a 7.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.

The medium-firm option is set up with the PU foam on top, followed by the gel memory foam, and the support foam. Our team rated it as a 8 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest):

Lastly, the firm feel involves the the support foam on top, and then the gel memory foam and the PU foam. Our team also rated it as a 8 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest):
Firm version
The firm version, (as you would expect) feels firm and dense. It doesn’t respond to body movements too well and isn’t overly comfortable. We would guess that most people would prefer the medium-firm or medium configuration with this mattress.
The medium-firm version (PU foam on top) still feels firm and dense but has a little more comfort than the firm version. The medium version was a little more comfortable still. We preferred the ‘medium’ option out of the three (the version it arrives as).
The Luxo Pro Mattress supports the spine well in all sleeping positions, there is a ‘hardness’ to this mattress that may not suit everyone. Nevertheless, partner disturbance is minimal and the customisation does provide more versatility than most mattresses.
The finer details
The Luxo Pro Mattress has reasonable edge support, and the zip (that removes the bamboo cover) seems to function well. As such, removing the covers to exchange the foam layers wasn’t particularly difficult, although it will be easier with two people.
The Luxo Pro Mattress offers a 100 night trial period and a 10 year warranty. We aren’t aware of any non-toxic specifications that this mattress holds.

Final verdict
The Luxo Pro Mattress is a versatile mattress with good back support. Its firmness and comfort may not suit everyone, but it does have a solid 100 night trial period and a 10 year warranty.
