We all know that Kmart have some great value products, but based on our assessment, the Kmart Cot Mattress did not rate highly in the cot mattress market.
The top comfort layer is made up of polyester and polyurethane foam which does offer a reasonable level of pressure relief. Having said that, the polyester fabric is very poorly ventilated and would most likely get ‘hot and sticky’. With breathability and ventilation such an important aspect of cot mattresses, the Kmart Cot Mattress doesn’t stack up in this regard.
The spring system feels very hard, with very little responsiveness for normal body movements during sleep. What is also worth noting is that this mattress does not hold any certifications relating to safety or hygiene.
Despite the attractive low price, we wouldn’t recommend the Kmart Cot Mattress when you consider that there are considerably better options available. The MyBub Cot Mattress at Clark Rubber ($169) is a significantly better option and definitely worth the extra spend.
