The Tencel knitted fabric on the top layer feels smooth and durable. This cover sits over a layer of gel memory foam and a high density support foam which give a nice balance of pressure relief and support. It has a firm ‘vibe’ to it, but it still absorbs body weight nicely. We have also tested and reviewed a firmer version in the Kew range, the Chirostar Therapeutic Mattress. The pocket spring system feels solid and robust, and the partner disturbance is not significant. Edge support is decent for a mattress in a box, and overall the mattress should be able to accommodate people of all sizes.
