The Giselle Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress available at PaydayDeals, offers a good value, supportive mattress for around the $500 mark. Considering that the average mattress in a box in Australia sells for around $1000, it is one of the cheaper mattress in a box products available.
This mattress has a fairly firm and supportive feel, and it seems to maintain body position quite well considering the price. The puffy network of pockets on the top layer do offer some pressure relief, and the 5 zone pocket spring system does offer reasonable support. The mattress is somewhat deficient in regards to build quality – it wouldn’t be robust enough to suit heavier people, and edge support was lacking. You can almost feel the springs through the top layer but again, the selling price must be taken into context here. For around the $500 mark, you’re not going to find much better. We found that it took around 24 hours to fully decompress after being taken out of the box.
Partner disturbance was noticeable but we have seen worse. If you are on tight budget and want a supportive mattress, this could have your number on it.
