Crown Hotels Mattress Review
The Crown Hotels Mattress is Australian made and as the name suggests, is used by Crown Towers Perth and Crown Towers Melbourne. It is a lovely mattress that offers very good value.
Purchase and delivery
The Crown Hotels Mattress is available for trial and/or purchase at the Crown Gifts Melbourne store on Metropol Precinct, Level 1 Retail, Crown Melbourne, 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank VIC 3006. The mattress can also be purchased can be purchased through Crown Gifts online.
Delivery is free but you will need to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Furthermore, Crown Gifts may not be able to deliver this mattress to certain regional areas.
Aesthetically, this mattress presents well and gives out a strong sense of class and luxury. It uses a brown, grey, and white colour theme with a Crown label at the base.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer is made from premium, high density foams which create a very comfortable sleeping surface, and absorb body weight evenly.
This mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers). Understandably though, this suitability will vary between individuals.
Our team rated it as a ‘medium / firm’ feel and a 6 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
Its Contour Tech™ 5 zoned pocket spring system feels solid and responsive, and offers excellent spinal support in all body positions. It should accommodate people of all sizes.
The Crown Hotels Mattress responds very well to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as ‘optimal’. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The overall build quality of the Crown Hotels Mattress is superb. It uses quality materials and its finishings are of a high standard.
Partner disturbance on the Crown Hotels Mattress is very minimal and edge support is excellent, thanks to the special ‘EdgeBoost’ technology.
It’s worth noting that the foams used in this mattress are certified by GECA as non-toxic. The mattress also comes with a 10 year warranty.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Crown Hotels Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.
