COZYbed Mattress (Discontinued)

The COZYbed Mattress is comfortable mattress with minimal partner disturbance. The interchangeable top layer was a practical addition. The one aspect which we felt is a little lacking was the spinal support. In both versions, there was a noticeable sinking feeling, which in the case of the COZYbed mattress, spinal and body support where compromised. Nevertheless, the mattress absorbed body weight well, presenting a reasonable option for those who prefer a softer feel to their mattress.

We fond the COZYbed mattress to be comfortable. The soft version had a nice and soft ‘spongy’ feel, and it absorbed body weight nicely. The firm version felt a little more dense and hard, but still had a fair amount of give in it. We noted a slight sinking feeling in both versions which could be viewed either way when it comes to comfort, but overall the COZYbed rated well in terms of comfort.

We found the COZYbed Mattress to be a little lacking in terms of support. As much as the mattress absorbed body weight well and was comfortable, we noted an immediate sinking feeling in all sleeping positions which would likely compromise a healthy, neutral spine position. The character of the foam was such that it did mould to the body fairly well, but as mentioned we felt that support of the spine and body could have been better.

We found this mattress wasn’t as solid or robust as other products tested in this award. The other cover did seem durable but just didn’t possess raw quality of other mattresses we assessed.

The amount of partner disturbance we noted on the COZYbed mattress was minimal. There was a very low level of mattress movement detected but certainly not significant and as a result we rated this category highly.

The current listing for a queen sized COZYbed Mattress is $1050. The average price of all 25 mattress in a box products in Australia is $1024, making the COZYbed mattress slightly above average in cost. Based on our assessment of the COZbed’s build quality, we couldn’t score this category highly, as we felt there were other mattresses in a box that we assessed that were of highly quality, and were priced at well under $1000.
