Purchase and delivery
The Yinahla Classic Comfort can be conveniently ordered online, through the Yinahla website. Delivery is free, and the mattress can be delivered Australia-wide (see full delivery details in our ‘Delivery information’ section further down).
The mattress arrived in pristine condition, thanks to some protective plastic wrapping. Unlike most mattresses available online, the Yinahla Classic Comfort doesn’t come compressed in a box. This means that you won’t have to wait for it to decompress, before sleeping on it.

The Yinahla Classic Comfort presents well with a simple, classic style. It sits 33cm high and uses a white and beige colour theme. The special embroidery and Australian made label also demonstrate a high level of refinement.
Mattress construction
The top cover of this mattress is made of Yinahla’s signature ‘elastin knitted fabric’ (400 grams per square metre). This fabric is used in all Yinahla mattresses, and (as the name suggests) feels soft and stretchy.
This elastin fabric sits over a combination of premium foam layers that make up the comfort layer of this mattress. These layers include a 30mm layer of Quiltec Joyce (Healthguard Treated) Foam, a 30mm layer of Dunlop Ultra Fresh Treated Foam, a 37mm layer of Soft Cloud Gel™ Foam, and a 30mm layer of Dunlop (Ultra Fresh Treated) Foam.
Yinahla’s exclusive Cloud Gel™ foam is 76% more breathable than standard foam, and is designed to maximise cooling and comfort.
These comfort layers sit over an incredibly robust, 9 Zone Ultra Coil Pocket Spring System. This spring system has an exceptionally high spring count (1,967 springs in a queen size mattress), more than double that of a standard innerspring mattress.
The mattress also includes a 80mm x 70mm Comfort Edge Foam Box, and other supporting layers (18mm Dunlop Ultra Fresh Treated Foam, 6mm Dunlop Dream 15 Ultra Fresh Treated Foam, 120gsm Stitch Bond Fabric, and a 36mm Tape Edge).
Comfort and support
The elastin cover feels soft and has a lovely, ‘stretchy’ feel to it. It also feels breathable and well ventilated so it may help to regulate sleep temperature.
The top comfort layer provides soft and ‘light’ pressure relief, and is lovely to sleep on. It absorbs bodyweight smoothly, and offers ample pressure relief around the hips and shoulders.
This mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but understandably, this suitability will vary between individuals.
We rated the Yinahla Classic Comfort as a ‘medium-firm’ feel and a 6 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies. Mattress firmness will also vary depending on the type of bed base used.
We tested the Yinahla Classic Comfort on the Chiropedic Bed Base which is a high quality bed base with rigid slats.
The 9 zone ‘ultra coil’ pocket spring system used in the Yinahla Classic Comfort is market-leading and will accommodate people of all sizes. It provides outstanding spinal support and we certainly didn’t detect any undesirable sinking or dipping.
The mattress also isolates movement very well, so partner disturbance is minimal. Partner disturbance may vary though – larger mattress (e.g. king size) will usually involve lower amounts of motion transfer. Partner disturbance will also depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.
The Yinahla Classic Comfort responds nicely to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as ‘optimal’. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, this mattress is excellent. It has strong side handles to make rotating (and transporting) the mattress easier.
The comfort edge foam box construction ensures that edge support is firm, so users should be able to use the entire surface of the mattress without fear of sliding off.

The foams used in the Yinahla Classic Comfort are certified as eco-friendly and non-toxic by GECA (Good Environmental Choice Australia) and Sensitive Choice. With this in mind, you can feel safe bringing this product into your home.
The Yinahla range has also been officially endorsed by the Australian Spinal Research Foundation.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Yinahla Classic Comfort to be used with a bed base with rigid slats (not flexible/posture slats) with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart.
A base that we would recommend to be used with the Yinahla Classic Comfort is the Chiropedic Bed Base.
We do not recommend the Yinahla Classic Comfort to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty. Furthermore, mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
Trial period and warranty
Yinahla offers a 100 night trial period, which is a typical trial period in the online mattress market. This means that you can return the mattress for a refund if you are not satisfied (conditions do apply).
This mattress also comes with an impressive 20 year warranty to cover any faulty materials or workmanship. This is far superior to the more common 10 year warranty among its competitors.
