The And Sleep Prime Mattress can be conveniently ordered online through the Bed in a Box Shop website. Delivery is free and the mattress can be delivered Australia wide (see delivery times below in the ‘Delivery’ section).
Unlike its competitors, this mattress is delivered ‘in a bag’ as opposed to ‘in a box’. This means that you get a bonus carry bag which can be used for carrying other large items.
Aesthetically, the And Sleep Prime Mattress has a definite presence. It uses a grey and black colour combination, and its brand name label and embroidery give off plenty of class.
Comfort and support
The And Sleep Prime Mattress is simply lovely to sleep on. Its top cover is made of a stretch knit fabric that feels durable and breathable. This top cover also includes a layer of natural bamboo fibre that is infused with activated charcoal. This is designed to minimise odour and prevent the growth of bacteria.
This sophisticated top cover sits over a layer of gel infused memory foam and ‘Airflow-foam’ which helps to improve ventilation. This comfort section also includes a layer of ‘Bio-Foam’ and ‘Bounce-Foam’. The combination of these layers absorbs body weight smoothly, and provides a beautiful top sleeping surface.
The mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers). Understandably though, its suitability will vary between individuals.

Not surprisingly, the And Sleep Prime Mattress responds beautifully to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as ‘optimal’. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
Overall build quality and craftsmanship of the And Sleep Prime Mattress is exemplary. It feels solid, stable, and the materials used are of high quality. Edge support is excellent, thanks to the ‘comfort edge box construction’ which provides a robust perimeter around the entire mattress. Partner disturbance is also very minimal, so a restless partner won’t be an issue.
This mattress comes with a 100 night trial period and a 15 year warranty. It is also well certified as non-toxic by CertiPUR-US® and the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, two of the world’s leading authorities in foam and fabric testing.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the And Sleep Prime Mattress to be used with a sturdy bed frame with solid slats (such as the Chiropedic Bed Base). We also recommend that these slats are no longer than 8 cm apart.
A bed frame with ‘flexible’ (posture) slats will not provide adequate support for this mattress. Please note that any unsupportive mattress foundation will void the warranty for this mattress.
Furthermore, we do not recommend the And Sleep Prime Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
