The Deep Dream Super Soft Mattress is available to purchase through Lifely. As the name suggests, it contains a generous layer of ‘cool gel’ memory foam that offers plenty of comfort.
This mattress forms part of Lifely’s (previously E-Living) mattress range, that includes the highly popular Deep Dream Medium Firm Mattress, the Deep Dream Essential Mattress, and the Deep Dream Green Tea Mattress.
Purchase and delivery
As with other (online) mattress in a box products, the Deep Dream Super Soft Mattress can be ordered online, and it will arrive at your door in a compact box.
The box was remarkably small and compact, and was easy to remove from its packaging. The mattress took a few hours to regain any kind of normal shape, but seemed to fully decompress after 24 hours.
Comfort and support
The top cover of this mattress is made from organic cotton which feels smooth and breathable. This cover sits over a thick layer of cool gel memory foam which is designed to prevent overheating. The remaining components of this mattress include a layer of convoluted foam and a layer of high density foam.

The Deep Dream Super Soft Mattress should suit most side sleepers well, but it may also suit back sleepers and stomach sleepers. Understandably though, this suitability will vary between individuals.
Nevertheless, our team rated it as a plush feel and a 3.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
The mattress has a noticeable sinking feeling in all body positions which may not suit everyone, but could certainly be considered for those who require ample pressure relief during sleep. It is comfortable but we would be a little weary of how it supports the spine for some people.
The Deep Dream Super Soft Mattress does not respond well to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as inadequate. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) will likely require some effort.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
Aside from the functionality of this mattress in terms of comfort and support, it isn’t overly sophisticated. Full foam mattresses don’t tend to be as durable as spring mattresses, and ventilation and breathability is also something to consider with a full foam mattress.
Despite some potential limitations, this mattress is still a very attractive proposition for those who like a softer feel mattress. Partner disturbance is very minimal, and is one of the benefits of a full foam mattress. Edge support is about average for a mattress in this price range.
Although it lacks some of the refinement found in its competitors, it must be noted that it is significantly less expensive than the average mattress in a box in Australia.
Considering that true ‘plush’ feel bed in a box options are almost non-existent, so for those who like a softer feel, this is certainly a good option. The Deep Dream Super Soft Mattress is also well certified as non-toxic and comes with a 20 year warranty.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Deep Dream Super Soft Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.

The Deep Dream Super Soft Mattress is a good option if you’re after a plush mattress for under $600. With this said, its softness and level of support may not suit everyone.
