Noa Luxe Mattress Review

The Noa Luxe Mattress forms the flagship product in Noa’s mattress range. It is comfortable, supportive, and is one of the best mattress in a box options on the market.

Purchase and delivery

This mattress can be ordered online (through the Noa website and will be delivered to your door in a compact box. Delivery is free and Noa can deliver to its serviceable areas in 2-14 business days. For more information, please see ‘Delivery’ section below.

The Noa Luxe Mattress was easy to remove from its packaging and, as usual, we recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box. Unpacking the Noa Luxe Mattress should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.

From a visual perspective, the Noa Luxe Mattress gives off plenty of class and style. It uses a dark grey and white colour theme with the ‘NOA’ brand highly visible on the top cover.

Comfort and support

The Noa Luxe Mattress presents well and has a nice blend of modern style and luxury. Its top comfort layer is rather sophisticated and consists of a hand-tufted Tencel fabric. This feels smooth, comfortable, and has antibacterial properties.

This spring unit offers excellent spinal support.

This Tencel cover sits over a layer of cooling gel memory foam, a layer of ‘bamboo charcoal’ infused latex, and a layer of micro-coils. The combination of these components form a comfortable sleeping surface that absorbs body weight evenly. The micro-coils help with body contouring and also help to improve ventilation.

The Noa Luxe Mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but understandably, its suitability will vary between individuals.

Based on our testing, our team rated it as a medium-firm feel and a 7.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).

Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.

Sitting below the Noa Luxe Mattress’ comfort layer is a 5 zone pocket spring system that feels sturdy and responsive. This spring unit offers excellent spinal support and should accommodate people of all sizes. The spring system also isolates sleep movements well, so partner disturbance is minimal.

The Noa Luxe Mattress responds nicely to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as ‘optimal’. In simple terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.

Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.

The finer details

The mattress contains strong side handles which makes carrying and manoeuvring much easier. The Noa Luxe Mattress also has a 9cm thick layer of high density foam around its perimeter. This gives very good edge support and is possibly the best foam encasement in the mattress in a box market.

The Noa Luxe Mattress is well certified as non-toxic and environmentally friendly, so we would be confident in recommending this to anyone who is concerned about any chemical sensitivities.

What bed base should I use?

As with most mattresses, we recommend the Noa Luxe Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).

A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.

Furthermore, we do not recommend the Noa Luxe Mattress to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.

It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.

Care Instructions

The mattress cover is not removable. We recommend a mattress protector immediately upon use to protect against spills and dirt. If needed, spot clean the desired area with a mild detergent (gently dab the affected area and avoid rubbing). Please ensure the cleaned area is completely dry before adding your mattress protector or sheets.

We recommend rotating the Noa Luxe Mattress 180 degrees every 3-6 months.
