The Posturepedic Elevate Marquis Firm has a distinct firm feel but otherwise is fairly unremarkable. Nevertheless, it has reasonable spinal support and comes with a 10 year warranty.
Purchase and delivery
This mattress can be ordered online, and delivery is available Australia-wide (see delivery times in our ‘Delivery’ section further down). It can also be purchased through any of Amart Furniture’s 69 stores across Australia.
Visually, the Posturepedic Elevate Marquis Firm presents well with a clean, simple look. It uses a grey and white colour combination (as with many other Sealy mattresses), along with a nice brand embroidery.
Comfort and support
The top cover of this mattress consists of a ‘Premium Sealy Fibre blend’ and a ‘Cushioning Quilt Layer’. This cover sits over a layer of gel infused foam which isn’t the most sophisticated comfort layer we have seen, but pressure relief is adequate.
As you would expect, we rated the Posturepedic Elevate Marquis Firm as a ‘firm’ feel and a 8 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
The spring system used in the Posturepedic Elevate Marquis Firm is a ‘Sealy Align Support Spring’ system. This system feels unsteady and unstable, characteristic of many Sealy mattresses. As you would expect, general balance and spinal support is compromised, and motion transfer is noticeable.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, this mattress is not overly inspiring. It does have side handles though, and edge support is decent thanks to its ‘Unicased® Edge Support. Its general quality and finishings appear to be a little substandard considering its price.
As we alluded to earlier, partner disturbance will be an issue, but this will understandably depend on the size of the occupants of the bed.
