The ProtectMe Fabric Protector is a revolutionary fabric protector that is highly effective and non-toxic. It can be used on a range of different surfaces such as mattresses, upholstery, carpet, clothing, and shoes. It works by preventing the absorption of moisture into these fabrics. This is very relevant to bedding hygiene as it reduces the build up of moisture, minimising the build up of bacteria and dust mites. It can also help to protect expensive furniture from accidental spills and ‘children’s’ activities.
We tested the protectME fabric protector on a typical style mattress with a Tencel cover. Even after seeing the protectME video, the difference in water absorption (before and after application) was quite incredible It seems to form an almost impenetrable ‘film’ which prevents moisture from working its way into the mattress fabric. The protectME fabric protector would therefore be useful for many surfaces around the home – mattresses, couches, chairs, and clothing. It would even be great on car seats and cot mattresses. As we alluded to before, the fact that this product is water based and non toxic, means that you can apply liberal amounts if necessary, without being concerned about the health of your family, and pets.
We were very impressed with the ProtectMe Fabric Protector and would highly recommend it as a staple product around the home – particularly to keep your bedding free of moisture, bacteria, and dust mites which can cause allergies and asthma.

Traditional fabric protectors we have applied on our household surfaces and upholstery for the last few decades contain highly toxic synthetic chemicals, which are harmful to our health and the planet. These chemicals, known as polyflurorinated alkyl substances or PFAS, have been shown to have a causal link to changes in the liver, thyroid and pancreas, as well as hormonal changes, which can lead to potential cancer risk. PFAS are very persistent in the environment and in the human body – meaning they don’t break down and they can accumulate over time. There is evidence that exposure to PFAS can lead to adverse human health effects.

How to use it
Prior to application
UPHOLSTERY & CARPETS
Vacuum surfaces thoroughly & remove any existing stains. Any cleaning products should be removed.
Clean in cold water only to remove any traces of detergents or softeners.
How much should I use ?
Approximately 100ml per m². A second coat may be needed for carpets & thicker materials.

1. CHECK YOUR FABRIC
Shake well and apply to a small test area for colour fastness. Not all textiles are colourfast
2. SPRAY AWAY
Spray an even layer from 15cm in a back & forth motion so that textile becomes moist
3. WAIT FOR IT
Allow a minimum of 12 hours for coating to cure in temperatures below 18°C allow up to 24 hours
4. TEST FOR COVERAGE
By spraying a little water on the textile. Small beads should form on the surface, if not, additional application may be required
